I like my newest avvie.
The Book: In the beginning the universe was created. This made a lot of people angry and has widely been considered as a bad move.
The Book: Presidents don't have power, their purpose is to draw attention away from it.

Showing off of new avatars is commonly done in this thread. <<

This is a small reminder to all new members that signature images should not be exceeding 800x200 pixels in size. A lot of people aren't reading the forum rules upon joining and I'm exhausted after sending about seven private messages this morning. Please go to the beginning of this thread for details about signature rules.

So is mine to big? Its 240x180, but its also an animated avatar. I think someone posted that it was too large, but noone else said anything about it. So i could make it smaller, or just find a new one, if its lagging anyones computer...

Huh? No, no, avatars are fine all around. You can't upload one larger than 250x250 if you wanted to, :P Used to be able to bypass it but now you can't. I'm talking about signatures.

For future reference... they apparently have to fit inside the 800x200 size (more or less) ... I thought we were allowed a pic of that size and one line of text.... oh wait *facepalm* lol those sig quotes I had broke that rule.

ehm, oops? mine do too, i think, but i had no message about it.

anyway, how can they ever exceed that? you can't put in sigs with images more than 200px anyway, you get an limits error return. i had to resize some of tom's wonderful art to fit it in. (;_;)

The forum can recognize too-large avatars as they're submitted, but signatures it can't. You could put a full-size copy of the Mona Lisa in there if you want. The forum code won't stop it from displaying.

I used to be the admin of a phpbb3 forum called FurryBrasil; and in order to diminish that problem I came up with a little CSS trick to hide anything in the signature that exceeded a particular pixel limit; text or image. Feel free to copy if you like (public domain), but don't forget to also apply the style in the signature preview page. We did not apply the fix to the user profile page in order to detect offenders that would intentionally hide big image downloads after the pixel crop.

This is the wrong place to show it off. Post in the signature art thread in the drawing forum.
