Re: Avatars / Signatures!
I doubt it's the size that is the problem, but rather the dimensions stretching the forum and in some general sense, the bigger the dimension, the bigger the size will probably be; a lot of big avatars and signatures together == longer page loads.
EDIT: May I ask a question on avatar sizes? Just taking Fast as an example, but he has always used avatars around 200*350px; the extra height doesn't stretch the forum, and it's barely bigger than a full 250*250px image. (And the rectangle avatar looks different from standard sized square avatars). I would assume this won't be allowed anymore though?

:/ I can't tell if my sig meets the requirements. I'd really hate to have to cut the fox girl.

Re: Avatars / Signatures!
*gasp* How will my oversized and awesome signature ever fit in such a small and confined space!? D: Oh, wait...
Now I need to go change my avatar (just when I had it animated, too )
Thanks, Nanaki. Moar breathing space, less scrolling :3

Re: Avatars / Signatures!
The avatars, to me aren't much of a problem, but some people have huuuge sigs, and that is annoying. Especially on my laptop.

Re: Avatars / Signatures!
Sage Asuka, your fox girl alone is 499px wide and 337px high. Currently "200-800" is stated for the signature limit, I would assume this is ment as 200-800px wide, but what is the height limit? 800px in width is rather big as well though, this will stretch the forum for those using less than 1024*700 or less.
I made a quick screenshot, and cropped in Photoshop, your complete signature (fox girl and underbanner/eggs) together is still 449px wide and around 416px high. Maybe it can be accepted if you lkeep only your fox girl, without the underbanned and/or eggs?

Re: Avatars / Signatures!
Well, it seems the eggs won't be a problem anymore :/ only 1 url is allowed now so all the eggs are going bye bye. Kinda sucks. Guess I'll get the clicks now to make em adult so they don't die.
Re: Avatars / Signatures!
hadn't any problems so far with scrolling or loading times, but well.
'nother problem: my ucp told me now only one url is aloowed in the sig, wth?
EDIT: oops, it's already adressed.

Jim's to tall! meh, I needed a new avatar anyway, and if I can't find one in time I'll just trim up my current one. Only one url? I'm getting tired of the eggs anyway.

Re: Avatars / Signatures!
generally i go by a rule where
if my avatar is size limit
and i post a comment of 1 line
then my signature should not make the post pox any bigger than it already is due to avatar and information below it.

I should be done coloring my new avvy today or tommorow, that's no problem. My sig though....er, how would I measure that?

My new one is the correct size. It takes away from the majesty of the pic, however.

Re: Avatars / Signatures!
I had to shrink my sig by only 50 pixels in height...
