Your request is both more difficult and much, much longer. If you're measuring your score by sheer update count, Schrodinger is always going to win between the two of you. :P
See, now, that's just defeatist talk. I shan't be so easily dissuaded

Haha, finally, an update on this old thing. As always, Master Av, this old fox salutes ye. I love how this old board comes to life in your tales, and that allusion to Sage brought back ancient memories that still make me laugh. I look forward to the next update, and I'm glad you're back to your creative self again.

Ooh, a nice surprise. As always, Avwolf, I enjoy reading your work. So my only question is this, does Yash beat people to death with his hammer? Because I can only think of one other way to for truly perma-ban people from ever entering a city.

Hmm, I'd be more believing that the hammer is some kind of Magical device; after all, the mods are -investigating- murders, not causing them. At least, not usually :P

Unless of course we go with the notion that said hammer actually transforms into a big gun. Which I would not argue against.

Oh, so we can shoot people but not beat them to death with hammers? I'm kidding of course, that would be an awful way to go.

A more civilized weapon for a more civilized age.

Turns out the "ban hammer" is attached to the "ban firing pin," which allows it to fire the "ban bullets" from the "ban barrel."

It's a gun, is what I'm implying. A ban gun.
And so it was that Godhead Pickle Inspector created the universe. He regarded His creation with fondness and saw that it was good.

Since when did we start keeping score?

amenon wrote:As always, Bleak Streets is really tricky for me to say anything about -- how does one discuss a meta-reality without discussing reality-reality? -- but "I used to know a guy who drowned folks in boiling soup, often for little more than annoying him on a bad day." got a pretty big laugh out of me
One of the things I enjoy about Bleak Streets is how it examines the line between what is fiction and what is fictionalized. When Sage told people to "get in the soup," was it really as brutal as "[drowning] folks in boiling soup?" Eh, probably not, but this version fits the setting better. :P Throughout the story, the line between real fiction and merely a fictionalized retelling of events is blurry. And it delights me.

Ahh, fair enough. Finally got around to reading it; a lot of fun, even if torturously short. And yes, you -do- tend to delay your posts. Hell, last you saw me, I was 2 girlfriends back and still thought of myself in sloppy college kid terms ;)
I'm no better myself. Oh, and the final count is one year, seven months, and ten days. Let's all do better in the future.

Since avwolf decided to, how did he put it... "Conceptualize [amenon] and Schrodinger as opposing shoulder consciences, throttling each other over which story I should be working on when I have time to write. =P"
Schrodinger wrote:I'm no better myself. Oh, and the final count is one year, seven months, and ten days. Let's all do better in the future.
I can't be the only one hoping I'd do worse. Or if I am, I won't be after next week...

But more on topic (rather than meta-topic), one of the difficulties with discussing this is that -- given earlier implications, and the fact that the story is noir -- it seems overwhelmingly likely that Yash is taking over the scene to conceal his own involvement. And that just doesn't seem like a polite thing to say :P

Alright, read the whole thing. I really like it. Probably because it takes place in a community I know. Just like a book I read in middle school I can't remember the name of, it mentions (and goes to) a small town I've been to.

Now time to anxiously wait for the next update, and looking at the pattern, will be a while :/

Don't mind me, just stirring up tea, trouble and people's hopes.

*Siiiiip*

Can't let this thing get buried under the writing competition, after all.
