Mekkan language question

#1 Post by Tornir »

Canonically, are any of Mekkan's languages in any way related to anything spoken on Earth?
A quick search only turned up headcanons and conlang threads, so I'm left wondering if a Terran human dropped into the Twokinds universe would be able to verbally communicate with anyone other than the dragons?

This has been brought up a few times over the years, and canonically, no. There's Human, high- and low-Keidran and Basitin, and Tom's general descriptions of how they sound compiled over several years' worth of streams and forum posts.

Least, as far as I know.

I do know that the keidran language has different male and female pronouns when referring to people, and that high-keidran was a more formal, more noble dialect.

I doubt we will ever get anything more than vague descriptions of the language.

Tom is very good but he is no Tolkien either to built a whole fantasy language just for the fun of it.
There are three things that motivate people: Money, fear and love.
