Introducing Yourself (Non-Musicians)

#1 Post by Tekros » Fri Nov 11, 2016 7:48 pm

INTRODUCE YOURSELF (NON-MUSICIANS)

Hello again everyone! Welcome to the Music Board!!! This is a place for all music sharing, discovering, and music related inquiries. Please enjoy yourself, and adhere to the rules on this board as you would any other. This is a place for all non-musicians to introduce themselves, and to describe what it is that they hope to find, or have already enjoyed discovering about the musically inclined community here on the TwoKinds Forums. We may already know who you are, but not exactly who you are in terms of musical preference. Help us get to know that side of you better.

Please do NOT advertise, or share any propaganda in this thread.

This thread is intended for community interaction, so that listeners get to know other listeners, the musicians get to know the listeners, and to see who exactly is listening to what types of music. This is the place to share what types of music you enjoy listening to, what you've found you've liked prior to introducing yourself, and what you seek to discover here. Please treat all of the artists both within this community, and mentioned within this community with kindness and respect. Criticism is encouraged! Be positive, and be constructive. Trust me, we appreciate it. I hope you enjoy listening to, and discovering the many wonderful and talented musicians that we have over the many years to come within our community. Welcome to the board. :P

Hi, I'm Akira110, y'all already know me as an author. What y'all don't know is that I like to listen to music when I write. Most of the music I listen to is video game and anime OSTs, but I am fairly well versed in listening to Classical Music as well as bands like Queen and the Eagles.

My favorite musician is Lindsey Stirling, she is quite literally the person who got me into the violin.

Now when I say that I'm not a musician, that's half-true. I'm a songwriter, as in a guy who actually writes lyrics. I also play the piano, but I have no recording studio or any hardware or really even the money to get all of that to share my piano pieces. But when I play the piano, it's always a somber musical piece.

As for what I like to listen to, it really depends on my mood, I mean I like really all kinds of stuff except for Country and most Rap.

Also Tekros, when you said propoganda, it's spelled propaganda.
Been around this forum for over 8 years now. Everyone I've known has left, now it's my time to do the same.

WHOOPEE, IT'S THE CRAZY KIWI!

Anyway, hello all, my pen name is ThunderVolt, and I very much love kiwis. I'm the author of A Kiwi's Journey, accessible in the Story Board. I just love being funny, and if you give me a chance I'll be your friend.

Music interests? Well, l listen to high-tempo pop, such as Mr. Saxobeat, however, my heart has always had it in for an album called Animusic. Animusic is a collection of music that is no-lyrics, but has been animated by a computer. However, it's not the animation that I like to see, it's the awesome music. The blends, the tempo... it's how I write with so much passion.

I also have an interest in game music, particularly Plants vs Zombies 2.

I tried once to make music with a computer, but that crashed and burned immediately.

Hey there everyone! I'm glad to see that this thread is kicking off with a wonderful start!!! |D
Akira, I myself am a MASSIVE fan of Lindsey Stirling, and she has been my celebrity crush ever since she way on America's Got Talent all of those years ago. I'd have to say my favorite song by her has definitely got to be the legendary "Crystallize". It seems as though you all have a pretty great taste in music as far as I can see! :P I look forward to discovering and helping you to discover new music here on down the track! ^__^

Btw Akira, I was incredibly tired when I was writing that earlier as I received little to no sleep last night, and it seems I will get about the same tonight as I'm visiting my father and his psychopathic children. Thank you for pointing out the typo, it has been corrected. I can see how as an author that might annoy you.

Cheers,

Hi. I'm Butterscotch, I'm rather picky when it comes to music. I don't like techno, electronic, pop, hardstyle, ya know, stuff like that.

My favourite genres are Alternative Rock, Indie Rock, punk and metal. My favourite band is Weezer.
The Scottish Dograccoon!

Gimme trash.

Well since this Board calmed down I might as well add to it. I like every genre of music I've ever listened to. From Classical, Death Metal, K-Pop, Rock, to Country. I usually like Country the least and tend to only like soulful songs. Rarely will someone hear me listening to "party" Country. My favorite genre is Rock.

I don't believe I have a favorite musician/band, sadly. The closest I have to a favorite is Queen and Disturbed as far as I can tell.

As stated previously by a few others I am basically a faux musician. I sing at bars sometimes when I get taken out and around the town. I was taught some basic mandolin skills but I am pretty sure I have lost them all now. The instrument I have the most experience in is the theremin but I still need to buy one. I want to learn how to play the violin after the theremin.

My musical preferences are posted in the "Music Interests" thread. I will make mention that I did play some woodwind instruments during my time in high school and college including saxophone (alto, tenor, baritone) and clarinet (alto, bass, contrabass). Not much since then, although I did work at a music store for five years. That had some extra...privileges.
