Not bones. Handles, and later, dog treats.

Indeed. To hold the meat by. Drumsticks are one of the messy foods that it is best to eat without utensils.
Hold it by the bone, eat the meat, give bone to dog.

Oh i see. You remind me once i was traveling without any utensils so i resorted to eat pretty much anything with my hands.
As a tangential fact most veterinarians do not recommend giving bones to dogs. As they are a significant choking hazard and may even cause some serious injuries like punctured internal organs.

Not always cronch, sometimes squidge.
Funny story: At a previous job, some of the folks arranged a paintball day, and we stopped off at a KFC on the way back.
I'd never eaten there before, and thought those little coated drumsticks were just reformed chicken - like nuggets.
When I bit one, it seemed a little tough, but not unreasonably so, so I just ate them.
After everyone had finished, the buckets were passed round for the bones, but I didn't have any.
Some of the other folks got a bit upset about that.

Re: Last Man Posting
Dogs have been gnawing on bones for millennia. It's not the bones, it's what they're made of, and only in certain situations. Pork, beef, or any other mammalian bones are fine, cooked or not. Avian bones, like chicken, turkey, etc. are hollow to reduce weight, and can splinter. That's what causes internal injuries.
And as for the choking hazard, just don't give tiny bones to big dogs. My terrier has been getting pork ribs as snacks for years, and aside from his complete lack of sanity, he's completely fine.

Re: Last Man Posting
There is significant vet advice against giving bones to dogs and even then there are several guidance if you decide to Give them a bone anyways
The fact that it doesn't happen to everyone all the time doesn't mean It doesn't happen nor that is not severe. I had a friend who never wear a seatbelt because he has never been in an accident before. He now works at google or something.
Last time i checked we cannot digest bones in any meaningful way. So it is actually dangerous to eat them as our risk of internal injury is this greater.

Re: Last Man Posting
I honestly don't think there was a risk in this case. I've eaten chicken legs before and since; none of those were so soft you could bite though the bone with no effort. I don't know if they were just really young chickens, or if they'd been fed a calcium deficient diet, or what.Technic[Bot] wrote: ↑Sat Oct 23, 2021 3:35 pm Last time i checked we cannot digest bones in any meaningful way. Re: Last Man Posting
Do you need duct tape because something is moving while it shouldn't, WD-40 because the movement is not smooth enough, or more calcium?
If it moves but shouldn't: Duct tape. If it doesn't move but should: WD-40. With a hammer everything fits, and if it still doesn't fit: bigger hammer. If it can't be fixed with a hammer it's an electrical problem.

In some cases, the rattling means it is moving the way it's supposed to. Some things just don't move that smoothly.
