Fabien hardly had the time to get up, before Naria rushed out past him, knocking him down. He got up, slightly annoyed but concerned. She went out too fast for him to be able to ask her any questions, or inquire where she was going. The mage wolf with the metal arm was soon after here and outside as well, and Fabien tried his best to keep up with him. He manages to catch up to the wolf as he is talking with another keidran.

He manages to just catch the end of the conversation. <"We need to be careful with the slavers."> he said, slightly out of breath <"They might have had time to send for reinforcements or for help, and i think the town watch is a bit busy with the fire to handle it, let us go there straight away!"> he said.

Naira lumbered on towards the docks. No slaver would leave this much of a commotion in their wake; smooth getaways are their style, as Naira's scarred maw evidenced. You could shut up anything with a mouth if you tried hard enough. But the roar and crackle of the fires were not silent in the least. Perhaps one of those sailors was a careless sorcerer, the boats may be sitting upon a great body of water, but it doesn't mean the fire couldn't jump from ship to ship to-

While initially the mental vision of the slave ship burning down was actually very pleasing, she realized the screams from that wretched boat would not be solely from humans.

Damn it! She should've been out at the docks earlier to lead those sailors. Why do I have to be so weak? Her legs were shaking and her back was growing slick, but she absolutely needed to get to that ship, else what's her freedom worth if she can't help any of her brethren, locked down in what can only be burning hot chains now!

If, however, she was to board the ship, she would need something to wrench the slaves free from their binds. Her fists were tight, and her claws would have been digging into her skin had they not been so shortly clipped. Her eyes darted among the citizens running around her, and a glimpse of silver caught her eye. The shine was temporary as the loose blade fell back into a leather sheath, fastened upon the belt of a wide man. He awkwardly stamped by as Naira snatched the blade from the stumbling man's waiststrap and continued to proceed through the crowd.

Naira had only taken a few steps with her mindlessly gotten weapon until the familiar sound of her name resounded with an equally unfamiliar volume through the crowd. Among the shouting, the roar did not have much effect upon the crowd; they had their own burning concerns. Naira paused her pained march, and turned, seeing white splotches in between the crowd that looked something like Magnus. Not entirely unexpected that the cacophony came from his depths.

He'd... probably see her. Naira couldn't stop right now, who knows how long that ship will last on the lit waters? She continued to stumble forward. The crowd was quickly growing scarcer as she was getting closer to the dock, and-

A small thrust of wind and, considerable heat, flew into her face as the crowd in front of her had scattered, and she could now see the fallen, burning wooden structure that was blocking her path. Not what I needed right now! She needed to find another entrance, but being among the chaotic crowd, compounded with her tired self was not helping her discern much of her surroundings. She turned back, and tried to spot the white fur of Magnus among the blurred figures running around.

"No normal flame burns like this, Emyr! Make no mistake, there's magic behind this, powerful pyromancy!" the mage said loudly above the din of burning timber and raised voices. This was directed to the captain of the city watch, who was dazedly watching the flames curling up against the now diminishing wall of freezing air the mages were creating.
"You believe someone is casting this?" the captain yelled.
"Exactly!"
The captain sucked in a deep breath and surveyed the blaze from top to bottom. His hand sat on the pommel of his sword.
"I trust your judgement- we'll circle around, flush out whoever this maniac is and be rid of him" he said.
"Captain! Captain!" came a shout from behind them. A young guardsman was pushing his way toward the rest of the watchmen. The captain strode quickly to meet him.
"Roderick, what news?"
"Keidran, Sir- he said there was a way to get past the fire through the north-east" the man said, his breathing a little heavy.
"Awfully fortuitous for him to know. We'll take a look- you and Elison stay behind and hold things down. Arrest that keidran if you see him- if he's involved in any way, he'll be swinging by tomorrow morning. Come on, men"
the captain called the rest of the watchmen to him and they rushed from the scene to get past the wall of fire.
Conroy, who was a natural born eavesdropper, had listened in to the rather loud conversation and furrowed his brow. This was in addition to the brief acquaintances he'd met at the inn rushing off to look for Naira- whom he'd only just learned their name. They didn't seem to have it quite under control, but if the girl got hurt running off into the fire, that was her business.
And to Conroy, his business looked as if it was about to go up in flames if that shipment was still in the docks- to say nothing of the ruined festival evening.
The man passed the next bucket in line off to his right and broke from his place in line, to a few curses of cowardice sent his way. He watched the guardsman leaving the scene and proceeded to shadow the haphazard rank as they ran through the streets.
Not too shabby.

Something caught Fabien's attention as he turned to face the building on fire, where everyone was working together to try to put out the flames. He had watched as the wolf had grabbed a guard, barking things at him in human language that even Fabien had trouble keeping up with. He had watched as the guard headed to his superior to inform him of the situation. Fabien had felt a sense of magic in the flames, they did not burn naturally like other fires he had seen. Something was up, and someone was behind this.

Turning back to see the others, he realizes he is alone, most people rushing around, either trying to help put out the fire, or panicking to save their things from the houses nearby. He decides to try and find the wounded keidran before more harm comes to her. Calmly he makes his way down the docks, looking for any familiar face form the tavern before.
Suddenly, he spots the wounded keidran running down one of the alleys. He follows her, trying to keep up but struggling.

White..

White...

Ah!

Back to the fire, a small flush of white stood over the heads of the crowd. Possibly a result of her degenerated state interfering with her eyes; the intense heat right behind her certainly didn't aid her focus. Irregardless, Naira started towards it, newly acquired steel in hand.

The cacophony of Magnus's voice hit her ears as she approached the wolf. In a hoarse yell, "I'm fine! Now listen," She grabbed him by the arm, as she began to see the semi-familiar fringes of Bastion and Fabien. She turned around, attempting a quick survey of where the disastrous flames ended and turned back. Motioning to them all, "We're going. Now!" More by a decision of chance rather than her actual sight of the surroundings, she started to run towards the north eastern side of the docks, Magnus in hand, and hopefully the rest in tow. The crowd was thinning as they approached the docks; less escapees and stragglers, and only minimally more those running to aid.

Conroy fell to the ground behind a collapsed wall as a fireball wheeled overhead in a wide arc, the force of the magic impacting on a rooftop adjacent and setting it ablaze. Rubble fell as the building quaked, forcing him to scramble away as the top floor began to give way, already weakened by the flames eating it from the inside. A rain of stone and timber crashed to the ground, mere feet from where he stood.
The docks beyond the flame wall were a maelstrom of fire and violence. It was not the usual ragged slavers who ran keidran cargo through human territory, it seemed. A full ship's crew, armed to the teeth with sabers and crossbows were battling what remained of the town's sailors, and now also the watch. The battle was vicious and chaotic, several men and keidran already dead or dying on the ground, burns and open wounds decorating all combatants alike.
There was fighting on the slaver's ship too, a handful of men duelling fiercely at the stern, the ship drifting slowly to an errant angle, evidently the stern lines to the dock had been cut away, but the ship had been boarded before setting sail.
Conroy could not see the pyromancer, but knew they were nearby, fuelling the flames.
He gingerly approached the body of a slain sailor, grimacing as he freed the death grip the man held on his sword, taking it and ducking back behind cover as a slaver was cut down near him by a watchman's pole-axe.
He breathed heavily, rapidly trying to plan his next move.
Not too shabby.
