Strange words
Hey,
I asked myself about lots of abbreviations you guys are using, like NSFW or OT.
Can you explain me what these means ?
Thanks !

Re: Strange words (Abbreviations)
OP can also be Original Poster (of a thread)
I also use IRL (In Real Life), among others.
FTFY (Fixed That For You). The other definitions above are all correct, otherwise.Bellhead wrote:There's also IIRC: If I recall correctly

Wow this thread is amazingly useful. I've learned a lot already haha! But I'm not here for a useless post of praise, I have a contribution!
IRC=Internet Relay Chat
I find often when I mention it nobody has any idea what it means or is. BTW (By the way) The chat option on the Twokinds main page brings you to the IRC page for the comic!

Re: Strange words
I never knew what the letters actually meant, but I just treated it as a 3 letter noun so I didn't much care to ask. The actual definition of the letters make it sound more important than it really is...Hayate wrote:IRC=Internet Relay Chat
I see some letters I can define in the post box here... UCP is User Control Panel, which is found near the top of the page. It's where you go to change things like your password, signature, avatar, swear filter option, etc. I also just now realized you can go there to see how many account warnings you currently have, but I think you need at least 1 for that to pop up...

I found out those ones :
g2g or gtg : got to go
bbl : be back later
brb : be right back

Re: Strange words
If we're talking acronyms in general, there are a couple that I've seen/used:
AFK: Away From Keyboard
IMO: In My Opinion
IIRC: If I Recall Correctly
GLHF: Good Luck, Have Fun
INB4: Used to predict or mention something before it's said/done
TL;DR: Too Long; Didn't Read

Re: Strange words
also found that :
i.e : "this is" or "in essence" (id est in latin)
e.g : "for example" or "example given" (exampli gratia in latin)
often confused, here are some tips to not confuse
