Music lost and found
I didn't find a similiar thread and I thought this would fit nicely in the media board. Moderators are free to correct me.
I'm sure everybody has sometimes experienced the frustration of hearing a good song over radio, in a commercial, movie trailer or maybe while playing a game. "Gawd, what was that heavenly tune? Why does it not have it's name written here?" ...Starting to see where I'm going?
Somebody knows. Somebody has to.
I used to play a NES game called "Gyruss". Only years later I found the song used in it, Toccata and Fugue in D-minor, by John Sebastian Bach. A trailer for 300, Knights of Cydonia by Muse. Yet there are so many songs where just googling doesn't cut it... That's where the fellow forumites step in and help out (if they can) :3
Of course, we aren't wizards nor psychics here. More clues you can give, the better. Let's see if the idea catches any wind.
(Found it! Seems like my mistake was searching with lyrics, which simply don't exist over the internet. I thought of searching for the other songs found in the tape, and surprisingly enough: they were all recorded from one and the same cd. A peek at songlisting got me a band name, and band name got me a report of band being brought back alive last year and attending the eurovision this year. Woah)

I really like this idea. However...
I beg to differ.

You can search that using a string of lyrics, album name, artist name, or song name. Best lyric archive on the web, in my opinion.

Nope. Not found. They don't exist XD
These are the kind of tricky songs this thread was meant for.
Want to try? Waldo's people: No-man's-land, for example.

Well, alright, I'll try it out.
My brothers are watching the movie "Accepted" in the other room, and I really liked the song that played after the scene where Bartleby's exposed as a fraud, and when he's moping around all sad and stuff.
Of course, I'm too lazy to cross-check it with every single song given in the credits, so if anyone wants to help me out, go for it.

I really like the idea of this thread. I've been spending hours looking for a song on the web before - a couple of times actually - and always succeeded. Maybe I can be a help to people here.
Re: Music lost and found
I'm difficult, the songs I hear, and want to find again, are all instrumentals.
Two pieces I had on a tape, made for me by my band director, had the names "Mystic Traveller" on one side and "incornation" on the other. I'd know them again if I heard them, but what's the chance of finding instrumentals of a new age flavor dated sometime before 1992? So far, the names have not produced any viable hits on limewire.

the red soldier: Killswitch Engaged - Arms of Sorrow
Wynni: I got something, but no idea if it's anywhere near what you're looking for. This artist seems to match some of your description.
I'd probably go for Fooby's too, but I've never even heard of the movie XD
I should've probably mentioned that there will always be more questions than anyone cabable of answering

Re: Music lost and found
Thanks Demus.
Now for another song, I only know a part of the lyrics somewhat but I hope some one recognises it.
Part of the lyric: You always wanted people to remember you, wanted to be part of society! Well your wish is coming true today, someone dies tonight!
Now that I've allowed you to beat me! We could play again, maybe I could win this time!
These arent the exact lyrics but there the only ones I remember from the song. Anyone recognised them?
