I have too many favorites to name. The Godfather series would obviously be one worth mentioning, but plenty of other goodies to choose from.

Used to be Blade Runner, but I think 2049 has overtaken it. The visuals are as amazing as ever, the worldbuilding fascinating, the plot a rollercoaster and the acting right on point. I'd also say it's pretty ponderous, and introduces a pretty important plot development way too late in the film to give it proper justice. But it's definitely one of those rare sequels that rivals the original, though it's a bit more subjective as to whether it surpasses it or not.

Star Wars IV (1977); I watch the original trilogy for the Hero's Journey format. I also adore Superman (1978) like no tomorrow.

The Mummy (1999). It has everything I love most in a story, along with much comedy. The sheer silliness of some of it makes me happy.

Second favorite is Jurassic Park. I was also surprisingly impressed with Jurassic World. It looked weird in the trailers, but ultimately it turned out rather fun.
With every mistake, we must surely be learning.

Choosing a favorite movie would be impossible for me! I'm just going to have to choose between all of the stuff that I've seen in the last year. There's only one movie that comes to mind - and its Blade Runner 2049. Modern-day Masterpiece.
