Rock Dog
I personally think Zootopia looks bland and uninspired. Here's a movie that might be alright. Not as nice fur textures, but the animation is solid and the voice acting is nice and charismatic.
Yeah, the title is in Cyrillic and the subs are in Japanese, but the audio is English.

Re: Rock Dog
Always room for another coming-of-age story. I shall endeavour to watch both.
(Also, that's Chinese)

Re: Rock Dog
Ech, I saw the characters and assumed the entire thing was in Kanji. To be fair, Japan stole Kanji from China.
Re: Rock Dog
The entire thing is in kanji. That's how you can tell. If it was Japanese, it would have kana as well
But seems like a cute movie. Any idea on release, beyond 'fall'?
-- Edit: Or 'coming soon', since apparently I dreamt up the 'fall'.
-- Edit edit: Nope, there it is, 'the fall'

Re: Rock Dog
Ah, of course. I completely forgot about particles and names that would otherwise be spelled out in kana.
I have no information regarding a release date. This is so new, 8chan's /furry/ board only had two posts about it, and it doesn't have a Wikipedia entry. Google searches yield sparse results.

Re: Rock Dog
setting looks rather anachronistic, or whatever the word for it is... past/future things in the same place, hadoukens alongside handguns, etc.
Certainly rather chinese-inspired, the trailer has piqued my curiosity.

Re: Rock Dog
This looks like a good movie. Definately not anythig I havent seen before, but it might have a new take and some good scenes.
(as others have already pointed out those are chinese subtitles, not japanese ones. I recognize a few of the characters here and there to tell)

You must train you eyes so strenuously to see the truth but when you do, a whole new world opens up for as you keen observation allows you to know more about some one than they know about themselves, this is called psychology - me

Re: Rock Dog
Ahh, so it's Tibetan inspired~ That looks like it will be an interesting movie.
Re: Rock Dog
So... this apparently is actually going to get released now. Or maybe? New trailers, anyway.

Re: Rock Dog
Looks like it's slated for 2017
Looks interesting, though it's movies like this that make me wonder why they need to be animals in the first place. I mean, for Zootopia it made sense because they made predator-prey relations an allegory for social issues in real life, as well as played around with how a city would work with a bunch of sentient species of animals. Here I just don't see a reason for it.

Why? Because of the diversity and variety in character design. And because it's a cartoon, and for expression.Ketzal wrote:it's movies like this that make me wonder why they need to be animals in the first place.
Gearhead mechanic in the digital era, who will probably grow up is in the process of growing up to be a very grumpy old man.
