If you happen to have netflix access, Black mirror is more than worth your time. It's an interesting miniseries of various short movies which all deal with the intersection of society and technology. They're directed by different folks, so they all have a very different feel to them. The first one, concerning a threat to UK's Prime Minister and set in the modern day, is in my opinion the weakest of them all--I'd suggest S1E2, "Fifteen Million Merits," for a proper introduction, and then watch the first episode. It's still worth watching, just not as great when compared to the other episodes.
