In the book, the battle of Castle Black seemed lot more hopeless and forlorn for me . Not just the castle side of the battle, but the wildling host on the other side of the Wall, which was a lot smaller than I imagined (even if Mance was just testing his strength...)
And yeah, they killed quite a few notable people for sure...
It was a good episode, but could have been better...
