Re: OnLive
I think it would just be a matter of hours before someone cracks through that security and DLs the games to his computer for keeps. Simply transfer them to a CD from there and wow! you have a hard copy!

*shrugs* It's not going to replace console stuff for me because of split screen and DLC and such. However my PC is [censored] while my internet is a 12 mb cable line....
Yeah I'm looking forward to it.

Re: OnLive
Well I'm not sure how it ruins PC gaming, but even them I buy most games. I bought Crysis, Crysis Warhead, Unreal Tournament 3, Counter Strike: Source, and Garrys Mod. So far the only game I've pirated is Far Cry 2, and thats only because I already bought it for 360. If your wondering why I bought it for 360 that's because none of my friends have super-computers like mine.Chaosye wrote:GodsNightmare21 wrote:Hmm after thinking about it, I think I'll stick with buying/pirating games.

Re: OnLive
It ruins PC gaming because if enough people pirate PC games, the guys who made the game wont be getting a profit.
Meaning they probably wont make anymore PC games
Cause they all get pirated.
Plus it's especially bad for people who make indie games.
There is a reason there arn't nearly as many new PC games then console games.
And if there is, it's almost always a port from the console version.
>:C
But it's a good thing your only a halfway pirate.

Re: OnLive
Here's my opinion on pirating. If I like a game, I buy it. I see the ads, reviews etc.. and I really do think I'll like it I buy it. If I see the ads, etc.. and think 'eh, nah I'm not going to risk my money on something I may not like, then I may pirate it. No one is losing any money, because I wasn't going to buy it in the first place. If I play the pirated game fro a few days and don't like it, I get rid of it. If I do like it, I buy the real version.

Re: OnLive
YEAH OF COURSE
That is every pirate's excuse ever.
"Oh I'll just pirate the game to try it out if I like it i'll buy it."
Who would buy it if they already got it with no money lost?

Re: OnLive
Uh, I would. Because that's what's right. Besides, pirated versions are often only half the story, they never have online, and it's often hard to get patches etc... for them.

Re: OnLive
YEAH WELL NORMAL PIRATES DONT
And also I think your getting the crappy pirates.
And it's not as hard as you think to get patches.
And if you know the right source they have the whole story

Re: OnLive
Yea it is annoying getting pirated games to play online. I only pirated Far Cry 2 for the singleplayer because my Xbox version singleplayer randomly stopped working (Just froze a second into the loading screen) but the multiplayer still works fine so singleplayer is PC and multi is Xbox. But yea I would only pirate a game if it's old and no stores have them or will be getting any copies of within a month.
BTW, perpahs we should get back on topic or at least make a thread about pirating or somthing.

To me OnLive is just picking up where the Phantom left behand with the download games into the OnLive and whats wrong with just picking up a real game.

It's more convenient and it saves time.Sean De Retro wrote:To me OnLive is just picking up where the Phantom left behand with the download games into the OnLive and whats wrong with just picking up a real game.
It's easier to play just one console than to buy all of them to get specific games.
It's simple to use and doesn't require too many things.
It promises a one console future.
AND I DONT LIKE ANY OF IT.

Re: OnLive
Yea I'm already starting to lose intrest. Two things I just found out: You need to pay monthly, I don't pay monthly for video games. Also, any tiny big of lag will make this product terrible. So what their doing is having you only be able to play with people near you or something similar. Point is, I live in New Jersey, I can't play with my good friend who is California for colledge. I'll stick to PC and 360.
