Resident Evil 5.
Does anyone have this game yet I am going to be buying the ps3 version this afternoon and since I keep hearing the AI can be frustrating at times does anyone want to play online multiplayer when I am back around 12:30-1:30ish.

I'm gunning to buy it tomorrow. But I'm short 6 bucks, and 2 years....that might be problematic.

Re: Resident Evil 5.
I beat it with my brother this weekend and it was pretty damn awsome. If you liked Resident Evil 4 then
you will love this game. Just to let you know its far more enjoyable if you play with a friend on co-op mode,
Sheva can be stupid in single player.

Re: Resident Evil 5.
heh yeah sheva sometimes becomes a sitting duck at times when the AI controls her when I try to feed her ammunition to her empty pistol and she doesn't want to pick it up so I have to pick it up instead. The only thing she is good at is dodging boss fight attacks, healing, and sometimes combo action moves.Anadu Kune wrote:I beat it with my brother this weekend and it was pretty damn awsome. Re: Resident Evil 5.
Yet again they dont realise that releasing it on pc would also be a good idea. its not gonna make any less money because of it
the few console players that might pirate it for pc will be outweighed by the people that buy it for pc
but still the companies insist on their ignornace
sorry bout that
i liked the films and the games so far but haven't played it (mainly cause i don't have a console newer than the N64)
on another me and 2 friends have decided as our summer project to take resident evil 3 (the film) and turn that into a decent open world game
we are intending to use the fallout 3 engine and the editor shouldn't be too difficult the only issue i am thinking of at the mo is making vehicles (unless they are in the game (i haven't seen any)) and changing the pipboy thing you have. also setting up zones around a small setlement or moving convoy in which you pick up radio chatter from them and making the convoys map properly (i.e they aren't random occurences that you come across they actually drive around.
we may end up having to use far cry 2 engine.
open world zombie apocalypse with styled vehicles
im hoping to make one like this

or this
http://suigintou.desudesudesu.org/4scra ... 123118.jpg
with the jet engine of course

Re: Resident Evil 5.
Ooh, Resident Evil 4 was awesome, as was the demo for 5. Now to start saving up some cash!

Re: Resident Evil 5.
Does anyone know if you can play this game (online) in co-op mode with a friend? Like if my friend and I both buy the X360 version would we be able to play it with each other from our own homes? Or is it strictly a two-player game and you have to be in the same room?

There is online Co OP mode and I think there might be split screen co op mode. However in order for you and your friend to be able to play you will need Xbox live and your friends account tag to meet up.Reichu wrote:Does anyone know if you can play this game (online) in co-op mode with a friend? Re: Resident Evil 5.
I loved RE 4 but RE 5 just pisses me off to no end.
They took a strictly single player game, a game that was supposed to be about the atmosphere of being alone in a zombie apocalypse. They went from survival horror to Army of Two or Gear of War but with the controls of a survival horror game. What makes me so mad is they FORCE you to play this co-op, effectively making the entire game a giant escort mission as if she dies, you die. If I had my choice I would kill her off right at the start if the game let me continue without her. What I hate so much is that the game cranked up the difficult, number of shots it takes to kill a single enemy, and included respawning enemies that can come from everywhere. The game is designed like an action game but your limited to the strict and stiff controls of a survival horror game, they don't match, they just create a kind of infuriating gameplay that makes me not want continue at all. So now in order to actually play the game I have to have a friend whose willing to play the whole thing through with me. Games today are really starting to make me sick.

Yea, I agree. I've never played any of the other RE games, but 5 was just a terrible game. I mean if your going to make a game based on co-op, could you at least make the AI [friendly] capable of doing anything.

Re: Resident Evil 5.
Well it's practically impossible to program the AI as good as human players in RE5 for obvious reasons.
The first reason is because she has limited hp and you probably don't want a female rambo walking infront of chain saw zombies or axe monsters shooting and trying to kill everything and be careless and have the enemies attack her so that you have to constantly keep healing her or she dies by the 1 hit kill mobs which would virtually make it impossible during mini boss fights and boss fights. (If they made the game like Half life 2 where the female had insane HP regen or infinite hp, seemingly infinite ammunition, and head shoted/killed everything, and had the chain zombie always follow her and can manage to not get stuck in walls and stuff so that way you can snipe at it this game would be ridiculously easy on the normal difficulties and above.)
So instead of having a female rambo that is asking the enemies to kill her they just made her AI as simple as follow around main character and shoot stuff occasionally so that she doesn't get instantly killed or you have to constantly heal her. (this is also why she is seemingly useless in boss fight).
Practically all games have AI problems like have you noticed the friendly AI games in shooters that are basically go from point A to point B hide behind cover and stay there while occasionally pop out and shoot at stuff? Have you ever played Brawl CPU 9 on custom built stages where the AI is not smart enough to avoid spikes?
RE5 is not a horrible game its just a game (It's playable compared to the games I have seen where the AI where if they die it's game over for you and the AI is as dumb as either run infront of a train which is supposed to kill a machine gun turrent multiple times and sometimes they are dumb enough to run in front of the machine gun turrent and get killed) it's ment to be played with someone else.

Re: Resident Evil 5.
Okay So I have the game right here and right beside me. I got the PS3 version, ANYBODY WANNA PLAY ONLINE WITH ME?! Im really awesome at this game. Considering I beat this game many times from beginning to end, got all the bsaa emblems, unlocked all costumes, got all the best guns and fully upgraded them. But seriously, c'mon guys... you'd rather play RE4 and hear all the "LEON HELP ME... HEEEEEELLLP.... HELP ME LEON". Ashley IS hot, but that b**ch gives me a f***ing headache all the time. I rather HAVE a partner who has a gun and can fend for herself at some points. Like RE0. (Im not saying I hate RE4, Its an awesome game and I play it everytime, LEON IS FREAKING AWESOME). If only Leon and Chris would partner up, it will be THE ULTIMATE TEAM OF DESTRUCTION. Leon with his super athletic abilities, and Chris with his superman strengh. (Did you see him push a boulder ten times his size... OMG )
P.S I never minded the AI, I was okay with her. I like taking all the fun anyways .
