Halo 2 mcc 2020. But im really upset at 343 ( the devs ) for not careing a little bit about the fans as its a mess compared to the original release 2004.
So I just do it for the "Compleat the game on legendary achivement" as that game never recived a balance and bumped up the enemies to 11.
Worlds strongest soldier in a big suit of armor and shields dies from a single sniper shot while the regular marines can take several. :D

So we are in the year of remakes now.
Played RE:make 3 nemesis. Great game loved all there was to it. Sadly wish there was more game. I never played the original but I am aware it was not very long either. However the remake got several sections cut from the original resulting in a very bite size experience. Do not get me wrong, what it is there is awesome. But there is very little game at the ends, no side mode no new game+ no nothing. Sadly it seems a lot of development effort went to the multiplayer game bundled with it. Which I do not intend to play despite technically having paid for it....
Capcom has tried over the years to create a multiplayer RE for over a decade now. With mixed results the best seems to have been resident evil outbreak and even then it is considered like a very mediocre RE game and the worst is of course Umbrella corps. Yet despite their poor performance in the area Capcom seems hellbent on creating a multiplayer resident evil.

Also playef FFVII remake. Loved every single bit of it, despite taking some artistic liberties on the source material. The Kingdom hearts influence is visible, but i thin i a good way.

I am surprised people took so much damn time to figure out dark souls + stars wars and a pinch of. Uncharted is such a good combination

Sorry for the double post. But It is has been enough time hasn't it?

So I decide to finally finish Valyria Chronicles and since there is a good chance you have never heard of this game before I am gonna be a bit more thorough about this one:

Valkyria Chronicles is strategy-rpg game that came out on 2008 on the PS3, over a decade ago. But today is basically on every console you can imagine and even on PC, and is very cheap if you want to give it a go. I played it on my computer about 5 years ago but stopped halfway because my computer at the time hardly ran PowerPoint let alone a videogames, and since it was on sale for Switch I decided to finally finish the game.

Anyhow What is the game actually about?
In the least words possible: What if WWII was anime?
Granted despite being an accurate description it is a bit reductionist. The game takes place on Europa, yep naming was not the designers top priority. In the early 1900's where two rival "nations" the Atlantic federation and the East European empire Germany just entered war, Europan War II to be precise, for continental dominance. Despite what I told you before you are not gonna play as a federation agent. No you play as a small regiment from France Gallia, a mini nation sandwiched between the two superpowers as it fights the empire. In particular you play as Squad 7, as its name implies a squad from the national militia, no your are not regular army, and Follow Welkin Gunther the squad commander and quite and entourage of other characters as they fight for their country.
Gameplay wise the game is unique. I imagine at some point during development the designers decided they wanted an strategy game, over let say a 3rd person shooter, but could not decided if the game would be better as a RTS or a Turn Based game. And from the bottom of the meeting room someone said: "Why not both"
The game is structured in phases, first in command phase you have a birds eye view of the battlefield and your units, however it is no point and click adventure, when moving and attacking you enter action phase, here you manually move each unit and, optionally, aim and attack. During this phase enemy units can and will shoot you so it requires more reflexes and quick thinking than an turn based game. Once you move or attack with all your units, or if you run out of command points, enemy phase starts and is basically the same.
My explanation probably makes no justice to the game and is those thinks that really need to be seen to be understood, fortunately the game is over 10 years so there are a lot of youtube videos you can check out if interested.
Finally there is the art direction of the thing. The whole game is told as if it were a comic book written a couple years after the events of the game transpired. Everything it is in a beautiful cell-shades art style and the imagination of steampunkish France is just beautiful. Voice acting is prominent and is very damn good, specially considering the game come out at 2008.
So if i am singing praises to the game why did i just stopped playing the thing and only picked up recently?
Well it has its issues. The gameplay, despite unique, could use some work: Enemy units can hit you on your turn and even pick a few pot shots while you are aiming but the enemy AI rarely allows you to do the same. There is a lot of RNG involved where you can loose units, also permadeath, because you missed 3 attacks consecutively, this is compounded because you have to pass 2 checks, your unit might miss or the enemy may dodge. Also the game loves to throw curve balls at you. You barely know what you will face in each mission and more often than note you will be hit by ambushes and enemy backups units. In some cases it is simply easier to restart the level and try a better battalion composition now that you know were and what enemies will spawn. All this also encourages save scumming, to the point it is not fun. Sometimes i reloaded over 3 times simply because my units keep missing and I did not wanted to restart the level.
Story wise the writing is solid but at the end of the game there are a couple of plot points that make little sense and overall the story is nothing out of this world, there are a few moments were it tries to blow your mind but at least for me it was: "Well ok i guess". It is also a bit messy. For example the game insist it is WWII, but technology, esthetics and even dates. Suggest something more like WW1.5 or something like that.
So after telling you that, why did i bought the game over 5 year later?
The gameplay is unique, there is no other game like this around and more common entries on the series, seem to have fixed a lot of issues, and it is very fun, I like strategy games and finally characterization. The writing strongest point by far is your squad and the relations between your squad mates, there are a lot of different interesting personalities on your over 30 recruitable characters. And interactions between them are a joy to listen to, despite only a handful of them having consistent dialogue on cutscenes, the rest are limited to battle quotes and lore you read on the game menus and even those get quite interesting over the course of the story.
Overall the game reminds me a bit of Twokinds. Overall the execution might be a bit clunky and messy at times but there are some little details like characterization, character development etc. That are incredibly well done.
So if you like strategy games and have some time to spare the game is basically ported to every console under the sun.

The Last of Us Part 2 launches this week, and I will be playing it as soon as I possibly can. Meanwhile, nearly done leveling up Fl4k in Borderlands 3 and HOLY gods they are a death machine. Not even level fifty yet, still only forty nine, and already tearing through Mayhem 2 Tyreen consistently. At that level, my Amara and Moze weren't even ready for Mayhem ONE. Though granted, that was back in October.

You’ll have to tell us what you think of The Last of Us pt 2. I’m getting a lot of mixed messages from reviewers and friends so I’m all ears for what y’all think.

Also anybody else pumped for Cyberpunk 2077?

I preordered Cyberpunk 2077 as soon as it was available for it! SUPER excited for November. For now though, I also preordered Ghost of Tsushima a couple months ago digitally, and will be getting it on Friday when it drops. Super excited for THAT, too.

SHIZ WHAT'S THE GORRAMN SPOILERS CODE AGAIN?!

Non spoilers version, play it for yourself, be ready to empathize with ALL of the characters, and just...come to your own conclusions. Don't let anyone make up your mind FOR you.
