After the long awaited release of GTA5 on the PC, modders went nuts creating hundreds of mods in only a few weeks. Some of these include guns that shoot cars, whales falling from the skies and being able to play as the local wildlife. Good times had by all.
However, Rockstar has stated that anyone found modding their game will be banded for their servers. This includes both single player and online mods. They have even rewritten their user agreement to cover their new stance on the subject.
Rockstar has stated that these changes have been made to protect the game's online economy, preventing players from cheating the system and to provide an equal playing ground for players.
There have also been threats of legal action against Rockstar thanks to a few creeps out there. Some modders have added 'rape mods' to the game, allowing them to take control of another persons character and preform all kinds of sexual abuse while the player sits helpless. The American legal system has referred to the act as 'Virtual sexual abuse' and appears to be taking the matter seriously.
So yeah, do you think this is warranted ? Or has Rockstar taken it a bit too far ?

Rockstars stance on mods for singleplayer http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/a ... d_05072015
From what I understand they are not allowing mods in multiplayer that do dll injection because the cheat detection system can't tell if that injection is harmless or not.
Also, EULA hasnt changed since 2013... http://www.rockstargames.com/eula
Singleplayer definitely needs to be moddable since its only you and who cares if you cheat more awesomeness into the game there.
