Anyways, in this thread, it would be great if any of you could post your top five favorite video games here.

Here is my list:

Single:
5. The Sims 3
4. SCP - Containment Breach
3. Grand Theft Auto IV
2. Garry's Mod
1. Real Lives 2010

Multi:
5. Grand Theft Auto IV Online
4. Garry's Mod Online
3. Team Fortress 2
2. Counter Strike: Global Offensive
1. Call of Duty Modern Warfare Online

EDIT: And please don't use this list to put in modded games.

Also, you can have a multiplayers section, just as long you have a thing that looks like this:

ooh, that's a tricky one. Are we including mods and the like?

for simplicity's sake, I'll just give my list for unmodded games:

1. Paper Mario
2. Super Smash Bros. Melee
3. Final Fantasy V
4. Smite
5. Binding of Isaac

1:Infinite space (bet not many know it)
2:Dust an elysian tail
3: warthunder
4:dawn of war soulstorm
5:metro last light

Interesting, that's difficult to determine.
I'll try anyway!

1. TES V: Skyrim
2. Assassins Creed II & Assassins Creed Brotherhood
3. Just Cause 2 (Just Cause 3 will be out by the end of this year!!)
4. Mirror's Edge
5. Portal & Portal 2

Kinda cheated by listing parts of franchises instead of a single games. Oh well.

My list seems so dated compared to most other people's XD

I suppose I'll throw my bit in.

1. Star Wars: Rebellion
2. Civilization: Call to Power
3. Pokemon - anything from Red to Crystal
4. X3: Terran Conflict
5. I think it's a tie between Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Okay, lets see if I can muster something up here...

1) Final Fantasy VII - Because Seriously.
2) Metroid Prime - Best Metroid game out there, along with Fusion and Super Metroid.
3) Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - IMO, definitively the best LoZ game I've played (Though I haven't played Skyward Sword or Windwaker)
4) To the Moon - Perhaps the best story I have seen in a VERY long time, and one that Markiplier probably killed the atmosphere of in his playthrough.
5) Katawa Shoujo - Decent writing that draws you in coupled with a feels train and very nice character development makes this Visual Novel a masterpiece that I want to aspire to top.

Here, I'll add 5 more just in case:

6) Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords - IMHO, it's much better than the first one, if you can find bug fixes and the extended content mod.
7) Mass Effect 3 (Post Ending Update) - I don't get what so many people were pissed about... Because I legit waited to beat the game.
8) Halo 3 - Definitively the best Halo game I have ever played. 343 got nothin' on this [censored].
9) Dark Souls 2 - Because we need more of these.
10) Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation - The best story out of any Tomb Raider game, and excellent gameplay. Don't buy that new garbage masquerading as Tomb Raider. The fourth installment, Last Revelation, is as Tomb Raider as it gets.

I've got to separate my top fives into single player and multiplayer.

Single. These games had great stories, gameplay mechanics and memorable characters.

3: Telltale's The Walking Dead
4: Alien Isolation
5: Borderlands 2

Multiplayer. Always a good source of competition, made you think tactically and hundreds of memorable moments with friends
1: Halo Reach
2: Battlefield 3
3: League of Legends
4: Age of Empires 3
5: Minecraft

Well, single and multiplayer.

Single
1. Jak 3
2. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
3. GTA V
4. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
5. Fallout 3


Multi:
1. Uncharted 3: Drake's Fortune's free online play
2. Minecraft(for roleplay purposes only, I'm afraid)
3. GTA Online
4. Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS
5. Dust 514

I think I've played too many games to pick favorites... Well, I could still try.

5. Mafia II - Oh, boy. This game is like a mafia GTA type game, and I love it. It's got an interesting story, and all the character's are very developed and compliment each other well. And also Vito's face. 4. To the Moon - Someone already said this one, but holy crap, I love this game. It's the best RPG Maker game (I think at least) out there, and it honestly makes me cry ever damn time. I even cried when I watched Markiplier play it. (Might I also add, one of the only things ever to make me cry.)

3. Banished - Something about this game is so drawing and addicting to me. You simply build a small village with a handful of banished (heh) villagers, and you make do. You collect resources and tell your villagers what to do to benefit the town and themselves. They all have to work together to survive and ensure that the next generation lives.

2. Portal 2 - Portal 2 is here because I was so freakin' obsessed with this game. I would say that it is the most fun I've had in a game to date. It's got a fantastic story, and GlaDOS and Wheatley are up there in my favorite character list. Speaking of which (if not done already), someone please make that list.

1. Mass Effect Series - I couldn't pinpoint my favorite game, so I just did the whole series. Holy hell, I love these games! I haven't gotten the chance to play Mass Effect 3 yet (which I hear is the best in the series), but from playing both 1 and 2, I can say that it is the best few freaking games I've played to date. The story is ungodly good (in my opinion, at least), the gameplay is fun as hell, but most importantly, the character are the best bunch of people I've ever experienced! If you haven't played these games, do yourself a favor and play the trilogy.
Honorable mentions: Smash Brothers (best fighter ever), Fallout 3 & New Vegas (I'm so sorry Banished took your place), Team Fortress 2 (900+ hours, oh god), Don't Starve/ Don't Starve Together, Garry's Mod (hell of a time), This War of Mine, The Sims 3 (played this for about 2 months straight), Dust: An Elysian Tail (lot's of platforming fun!), TES V: Skyrim (of course), Hearthstone, Paper's Please, All the LEGO games (don't judge, I loved those as a kid), Pokemon 3rd Gen. (screw the haters), LOZ: Wind Waker (Toon Link ftw), Soul Caliber 4 & 5, Half-Life 2 (and the rest of them), and finally, Left 4 Dead 2 (KIDDIELAND!)

FORGOT ABOUT ALL THE TELLTALE POINT-AND-CLICK GAMES, OH LORD (They are fantastic. I'd say Tales of Borderlands would take number 5)

Yes I know, most of the games are unplayable now. But there aint much that can beat the tiny things in those games. I rather Count in series than actuall game number unless there only was one that I liked. But, everyones list is diffrent.

I quite enjoy some older ones.

1. Supreme Comander: Forged Alliance
2. Galactic Civilizations II
3. Conquest: Frontier Wars
4. Europa Universalis IV
5. Mount and Blade: Warband

I was debating whether to have Crysis 1 or ST:SCII for number five on here as well. Mirror's Edge, Star Wars Battlefront I and II, and Just Cause 2 were pretty close too. There were a few LOTR games which were pretty good as well.
