Rarely post here, but I thought this might be of worthy notice.

So, for those few people who still adore the Dark Souls franchise on PC, Durante created a thing that actually allowed players to play the damn game on PC. Very simple wrapper, did it two years ago with no complaints. What it did was unlock framerate, and change the size of the dimensions to custom ones. It made the terrible port actually playable, and affected nothing else.

They're actually gonna remove the entire thing and ban it as illegal.
I'm not sure if I'm impressed or disgusted at Namco about this.
I'm curious to hear others opinions on this!

Namco WTF is wrong with you? DSFIX has nothing of yours in it. It's all original content and violates nothing. Wow, first [censored] port, then DS2 wasn't bad, but now bloodbourne is PS4 only? And now this. Just what the hell is wrong with you people?

[censored] christ dude, videogame makers have no [censored] clue what they're doing anymore and everything is grounds for being sued or banned from their service. Is there even a point of making games anymore? It's all become [censored]. No wonder everyone is having such a hard on for Indie devs.

Unless this gets reversed, I suppose I'll have to add Namco Bandai to my [censored] list.

...the list actually goes on more than that. I [censored] hate when game companies (publishers, devs, producers, ect) do this [censored]. Everything is good and then they try to be all big and mean. It doesn't work.

Yeah, they're getting ridiculous. They're already planning on a re-release of Dark Souls 2 that's basically just the actual finished product. Minor updates and a few things they didn't have finished before release.

And they're selling it at full price with no consideration for whether or not you've already bought the game.

My guess is that they're trying to force players to move on to Dark Souls 2, because it's not really as good as the first one, so a lot of people are probably hanging on to DkS1.
