So, I'm mainly curious as to whether or not people collect the trading cards to make badges or whether they sell their TF2/Dota2/CS:GO items or other trading cards to put some pennies in their Steam wallet.
I've actually found it rather useful to sell a couple of trading cards and then buy items for low prices, sell them for higher, then buy the cards I'm looking for.

SteamTradingCards is srs bizns
I have earned about 25 euro just by trading them ;o
If you have a lot of time, you can easily earn some serious money on STC.
Trading TF2 items is not profitable anymore.

I didn't start paying attention to trading cards until pretty recently. I have no idea how the whole system works but I'm looking to complete some of the sets I've got bits and pieces for.

I'll pick up badges in games I care about. Have them for TF2, L4D2, The Walking Dead and a level 5 badge for Dota 2 :3
Re: Steam Market/Trading Cards
I try to get a lvl 1 badge for the games I liked.
My sister's husband has gotten 100 dollars from trading dota items, though that was with the help of a (dubiously legal?) script he wrote to notify him when something is available for significantly cheaper than normal.

Earning money by trading STC is easy, if you know where too look for low price items.
