What's silly in my mind is that, if Xbox One(and the Xbox One UI) games will run on a decent Windows 7 system, why in the world don't they just release a version of the Xbox One system for PC? All games are DVD/Blu-ray or online, right? Make a "Xbox Emulator"(which really wouldn't be, just a few extra libs and such), and call it good -- now you can sell Xbox One games and subscriptions /without/ as much hardware cost, both for gamers, and for MS!

Sadly, I doubt that'll ever happen, unless we get some excellent hackers to 'fix' that problem, but it seems silly.
It's one thing when a console is a more powerful or different archetecture to a PC, but when it's the /same F***ing thing/...

Ah, well.

Completely agree, Robbie.

Honestly I can see this happening. I mean at least there will be some emulator to let the games be played. But perhaps someone will make a whole console UI so I can play on XBL. I know Microsoft won't really like this but... I hope it happens. Along with a Kinect workaround.

I've also read somewhere that the PS4 is already leading when it comes to preorders.

Found it. For every 2 xboxone preorder, the PS4 has 3.

EDIT: Some even say by a 2 to 1 margin. Hell, if they are planning a few good games (And continuing the Dynasty Warriors series) I might actually decide to get in the console generation myself with a PS4.

Fire.

At my gamestop we are murdering on PS4 pre-orders. We have run out of Xbox pre-orders but only because we have way less of them available. Where the PS4 is in plentiful supply. Also the only people who are pre-ordering the Xbox are hardcore Xbro fanboys or people who have no idea what is going on in gaming and didn't watch E3/Almost never game (casuals). So after a quick speach of what is what, another PS4 pre-order is set to go and the Xbone is gonna fail.

Nice. I hope this is the case at other gamestops.

Well, according to early reports the PS4 is outselling the xbox. Honestly the cheaper one will always outsell the more expensive one but I do hope the early trends continue.

So...we have a Sim [censored] scenario all over again. It seems that when the lifecycle of this XBOX is done, they will still allow you to play the games offline when they shut down the service. So this makes me wonder: If you can make it play offline...WHY WON'T YOU MAKE IT PLAY OFFLINE!?

Because by that point they no longer need to control the consumer base by the balls and hold video games hostage. The console unsupported and not making them money, why the [censored] would they care?

Nailed it. Microsoft's way of holding on to their market audience is an aggressive one and one that works. Unfortunately, it also means they'll lose most of their consumer base in the process, because nobody wants to be subject to that. And that is painfully ironic, considering that this strategy was supposed to hold consumers in in the first place.
