Well, could you tell me what your computer specs are?

City of Steam is a browser-based game, which means very low entry barrier. We are still tweaking and fine tuning the game settings atm. Currently, a gaming computer that is around three to five years old will run the game just fine. Older, non-gaming computers and/or old laptops will need to reduce the graphic quality settings to achieve an acceptable frame rate. I really think it will work just fine on your computer, as long as it is good enough to handle a video game of moderate graphics released 3 to 5 years ago.
Hm...My laptop is a Toshiba Satelite from early 2009. At least, I bought it in 2009. Could be actually from 2008. It manages to chug through Star Trek Online at minimum settings, and barely keeps up with The Old Republic.
Well, I just checked STO's system requirements. If your computer can run it, it will have no problem running CoS at "Fast" to "Fastest" settings with a decent framerate I believe. But there are some other factors that will count like your Internet connection speed, so it's hard to say definitely atm. Why not check it out yourself? You see, it's browser-based and no giant client download needed. Just hop over to the CoS website, register an account, grab a key (there are ways to nab a free Beta Key if you are not looking to purchase a Collaborator Pack right now), and get started when the server's up!

If you haven't noticed yet, the server has been up for two days now. Click here to join us.

If you want a key, grab one in this thread, or PM me for one.

Feel free to tell us what you think of the game.:)

Hello, guys. Sorry for my absence on the forum for a couple of days. We have been so busy with collecting player feedback during CBT 2 (Summercrest) and such.

Just want to drop by and tell you guys that the Summercrest is now over and CBT 3 (Autumnwane) is coming on Dec. 14th, with even more contents unlocked in addition to a slew of fixes and updates. No data wipe has been planned for Autumnwane so far so you’ll be able to continue your journey in the game from what you left off in Summercrest.

Also, a big news has been announced on our site: WE ARE PHASING OUT THE DESIGN-AN-ITEM EXTRA FROM THE PARAGON PACK IN ANOTHER 24 HOURS FROM NOW (ON THE 5TH OF DECEMBER AT 11:59:59 PM)! We are very sorry to say that, since we are very close to the OBT and official release (in just a few months!), this won’t be available any more very soon, so get it while you can! Like…right now!

Here are three samples of what Paragons have helped design in City of Steam:

The crazy deaths-head Engine Scimitar; Metal Head!: http://www.cityofsteam.com/wp-content/u ... l-Head.jpg

The sleek and powerful Rin Insomnia Rifle!: http://www.cityofsteam.com/wp-content/u ... schill.jpg

The Von Foust Industries designed Fist Shield!: http://www.cityofsteam.com/wp-content/u ... s-boss.jpg

Seize your last opportunity to design your own item in the game for the following 24 hours!
