The Beta Weekend Event is Coming!

"Guild Wars 2 Beta Weekend Event, which begins on Friday, April 27, at noon PDT (GMT-7) and ends on Sunday, April 29, at 11:59 p.m. PDT (GMT-7)."

I can't wait to create my Female Charr character.
In the meantime, I continue upgrading my Hall of Monuments in GW1.

So there will be 2 main server groups US and EU, and you can change the subservers.

I hope there will be an option to move to the US server from EU and backwards like in GW1. In that case we can meet

I'm waiting this too, played the Nightfall for a couple of years, but I should have bought the other expansion packs too as now I will not get that much to my hall of monuments... Anyway, it would be great to see you guys on game when it's released

Me too. I made a lot of screenshots about my character so I can remake it.

In the first beta and stress test I tried the elementalist and Norn warrior. In further betas I want to try: Necro, Ranger and maybe Engineer and Thief.
After release my two main characters will be an elementalist and a warrior. In GW1 my first character is a necro.


Anyway now I have 27/50 points and I only need 3 more points to my hall of monuments to unlock all of the item rewards.

Oooo! An active Guild Wars 2 discussion thread. This is the first one I've seen among all the non-GW2 forums I've joined.

Which is actually quite sad... Anyway!

I am also looking forward to this game. Against my decision, my guild has chosen to go to Dark Haven, which I'm not thrilled with. Don't get me wrong, choosing the server that has so many people that it's constantly full isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I prefer smaller servers because then there's:
1) Less lag.
2) Lesser people, thus people know other players' names better.


If it were up to me, I'd go to Aurora Glade. That's the server I'm spending my time on during the Beta Weekend Events for two reasons:
1) Small server, works to my liking.
2) EU Server. While I'm American, I heard EU servers are insanely buggy during the Beta Weekend Events, and I'm OCD about looking for bugs.


Likely my two main characters will be Kvailas Doomsayer (an Engineer I used in the weekend events) and my main character Gray Kaizure, who happens to be the character that interrupts my posts.

Like a boss.

Good news!

Beta Weekend Event 2 will begin on Friday, June 8th, at noon PDT (GMT-7) and will run until Sunday, June 10th, at 11:59 p.m. PDT (GMT-7).


"Your existing beta characters have not been deleted, and you will be able to continue right where you left off! This means that enterprising players with characters level 35 or higher will be able to test their mettle against the explorable version of the Ascalonian Catacombs dungeon!"

Going to compile a short server list based on what's been posted thus far:

Kaizure - Aurora Glade (Switching to Dark Haven)
Nazarov - Fort Ranik
Unkowndeth - Fort Aspenwood

Everyone else either hasn't posted their server choice or hasn't played any betas to know any better.

That said, if the Twokinders want to meet up and play, there's only two foreseeable options at this time. Either A) Hope "Guesting" is allowed (whereas you can be a guest on a server that's not your home) or B) Transfer servers. I doubt B is something people want to do considering how most people, when they get to a high level, don't really want to start fresh (which we'll have to do anyway upon release most likely).

I hate you. I've been trying to do this and I'm stuck at 3 lol...why is guild wars 1 so difficult to get into?
Also I like Fort Aspenwood. There was no lag and we won every WvWvW event. Hopefully my guild will stick with this server, but a lot of people want a less populated server because they're afraid that more people will ruin the experience or something like that.

Guesting is allowed but you can't join WvWvW with people because it's world based. Also switching home worlds isn't that bad because you can spend in game money to buy gems and switch.
