Nintendo 3DS

#1 Post by djb0809 »

Here is the information you've all been waiting for, the release date and price of the Nintendo 3ds. Straight from Nintendo's Fall Conference 2010 that happened about 6 hours ago.

Japan: February 26th, 25,000 Yen (around $300)
North America and Europe: March, Price not set(expect slightly less than $299)

Is this what you were hoping for? Post your comments and criticisms

I've been excited for some time, but not too excited after how the Wii went. Nintendo's still been good with portables, though (I love my DS) so who knows, this could go well. Of course, I'm about twice as excited after stumbling upon this (Megaman Legends 3 on the 3DS).

The date's not too far off and the price isn't bad...I'll have to grab one.

One amazing feature I found is the addition of a Virtual Console-like store for GBC and GBA games which will be playable in 3D!

That's my main draw for getting one of these things :P

Of course, I recently replaced my DS Phat (the oooooooolllllldddddd original clunky gray one I still have from a month after the initial release), and a couple days after I did I heard about the 3DS, so I'm still punching myself over that. XD
Probably gonna be waiting for a price drop, also.

Apparently, Paper Mario, Ocarina of Time remake, Mario Kart are a few of the games coming out on 3DS.

I want this bad but I'll have to get myself some money first.

EDIT: Here is a full list of 3DS games

I want the new Resident Evil Revelations coming out for that. Only if I had the power of time I can speed things up.

P.S I'm not such a big fan on Nintendo... considering most of their games are casual. But Zelda and Fire Emblem, are the only series keeping me connected to Nintendo. Plus... I think I just want the 3DS just for the Resident Evil game. AND waiting to see if any Zelda or Fire Emblem games will come out for it.

There is the Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time remake. Not sure about any Fire Emblem.

This is going to be awsome

CPU: 2 x 266MHz ARM11
GPU: PICA200 133MHz GPU by DMP
RAM: 64MB
Video RAM: 4MB
Storage: 1.5GB Flash-based

Fairly good specs that are better than the gamecube, so they have been talking about doing a lot of ports from it and earlier consoles.

I am deff. looking forward to it, but i am hoping the price will drop a bit.

But I must second this.

I don't play videogames enough to wanna spend $300 on a handheld system...
Either way, I'm hoping Nintendo does a lot better with this system than they did with the Wii.
The Wii just kinda made a lameness fart

The Wii was a brilliant idea that failed to get off the ground. Completely.

Now for my thoughts on the 3DS. Looks awesome. I never played Starfox 64 or Ocarina of Time, so getting to play those seems so damn awesome! The price is a bit much and, seeing I live in Australia, we'll get it about six months after the rest of the world. I'll just get my grandmother in Japan to send me one.

The specs do seem pretty darn good for a portable, but the way the 3d works is by projecting a separate image to each eye. This means that it's gonna be using, at best, 50% output to each screen. All of a sudden, i'm feeling a tad jipped. If nintendo would allow some non-3d games, the results could be awesome! I won't get my hopes up though. *Volgaia looks across the room to his nintendo wii, which has accumulated some dust after so many months of non-use*

thats the one thing i am really dreading, is that nintendo is moronic about their gimmics. If the game doesnt involve 3d, it probably wont be around for at least a year or 2.
