Left 4 Dead 2

#1 Post by GodsNightmare21 »

Well, looks like Valve is making another Left 4 Dead. Trailer

You play as a Black family [If anyone is offended by that, grow up] in somewhere that actually has daylight. Also, there will be chainsaws.
Ye, as I walk through the shadow of the Vally of Death...

It's not a black family, it's still just a group of random survivors.

It looks like a good game. The graphics seem to be getting a bit of a jump from the previous incarnation. Not too much, but enough to be interesting.

I wonder how the chainsaws will be worked to not be overkill, but also to not leave the player open to attack.

Chainsaws'll first off take a bit of time to rev up, that much is definite. Probably take a few seconds to take out your enemy, and you might get your saw stuck in the corpse if something goes wrong, like outta gas, or bones, or another zombie takes you out. If that happens, it would be awesome if the chainsaw remained lodged in the walking corpse, waiting for another person to continue the slice, or to just dislodge it.

Graphically, it looks slightly cartoonish, but maybe it's just the lighting.

I just saw the news on steam and rushed here to make a thread. It looks pretty cool, I'll bet you can use a crowbar as a melee weapon. I always wanted to play a zombie game in bright daylight to see how different it is so I hope the place in the trailer is one of the levels.

Steam News wrote: [...]

Set for release on November 17, the title adds melee combat to enable deeper co-operative gameplay, with items such as a chainsaw, frying pan, axe, baseball bat, and more.

[...]

Featuring new Survivors, boss zombies, weapons, and items, Left 4 Dead 2 offers a much larger game than the original with more co-operative campaigns, more Versus campaigns, and maps for Survival mode available at launch.

[...]
So there's gonna be lots more campaigns and boss zombies. I'll try it before I buy it, but it looks awesome.

DEAR GOD YES.

Christ these Left 4 Dead creators need to just make trailers. I could watch these for days and not get bored. *glee!*

"And if we run outta bullets?" *CHAINSAWZ* "They go'an with we hadn't."

This scared me quite a bit at first, since it sounded to me like they were making new content for L4D then said "Screw it, let's reskin everything and call it a new game!", but the more I read up on it...the more it sounds like win. I am excited for this.

I just hope Valve doesn't do its typical Valve time thing and push the date back. Because the moment they do...*revs chainsaw* they go'an with they hadn't.

4 months Valve time equals about a year. Good thing they usually make awesome games.

When they release this game, They go'an wish they hadn't. I mean srsly. If they DO go ahead with this release, at least make it possible for varied campaigns, not seriously anchored locales.
I like the originals Philadelphia setting. Gave me a claustrophobic feeling.

Also. The kid in the T-shirt looks like Tom Saw-yah and The Scout had a baby. Wait...eww.
On Christmas 2009, Closing fast on New Year's Day, Kholhaus the Great came back

But who knows for how long? Not we, the faithful. We watch and wait. For the annoying noob to go away.

Georgia and Louisiana? Aww. I was hoping it would be South America, not the south of America.

I think I can say with some certainty that I'm going to be holding off on paying full price for this game for as long as I can. Even though it does look like it might be pretty cool.
