I'm not quite dead yet! (Update for 11/23/08)

#1 Post by Buddha Fett »

After a long, looong while without an internet connection, I'm pleased to post a few of my recent doodles!

Comments/critiques/etc. are appreciated!

Image
I don't really remember what she was supposed to be; I think it was a druid I was working on at the time?

Image
I really like the fighting style I came up with for this guy; he uses the gauntlets in normal combat, then finishes off tough/supernatural opponents with the broken blade he carries on his back.

Image
And lastly, this is a cleric I doodled up for my friend; didn't turn out quite how I wanted, but hey, it rarely does!

They all look pretty good, but my gosh they look exhausted!

I really like the character design, I like the sense of fur on the first girl, the guy looks pretty darn cool, and it's nice to see a lady with a mace. I know FastChapter pointed it out already, but yeah, all the characters look tired. Probably because the eyebrows are pretty high up, and the eyes themselves look nearly closed. You could lower the eyebrows or something, cause I kind of like how you do the eyes. (sort of semi-realistic since real eyes aren't perfect circles or giant ovals.)

Amazingly, I managed to get a new picture or two done!

As always, comments/critiques are appreciated.

An angry old man with a big old sword; not exactly the pleasant type.

My first attempt at an action shot; it turned out MUCH better than I thought it was going to, to be honest.

action shot: not much action...or emotion for that matter. The attacker seems like he's bored with the idea, which gives him the appearance that he's moving slowly. By the looks of it, he should either have a look of anger or astonishment (considering his attack was just dodged.) Other than that, it's a good picture, and so is the other one, although in it (again) the character lacks the furrows and dark look that the text describes

This one is much better. You can actually see the smile and the eyes giving off a faintly thoughtful air, as if he were contemplating something while enjoying the night (or day). The only question I have is this: how is he supposed to hold the 2 swords? The grip seems to be about the width of his finger, while the rest of the hilt is too big for him to get a good grip on 'em.

if you look closely you can see that the silver on the swords handles are knuckle protectors, the handle is behind them, nice pic by the way :p
