Re: ButterBall's Workings (Class Assignments 6/10/09)
If my monitors could reflect the light in my room better or maybe if I had a mirror that wasn't crushed into tiny pieces I would have way more drawings of myself.

I'll keep this in mind.emmy wrote:tip: digital fotos or telephone, then put 'em fullscreen. that's how i do it.
EDIT (6/21/09):
I used the circle I cut out of the brick wall on the Portal in a Portal, peeled off the paint, picked up some colored pencils, then cut out the tips. I love how the camera's flash wasn't able to encompass all of the lens and darkened the corners
I taped this to the top of my motorboard during my graduation ceremony.
Done in watercolors, this is the first portal I did in the series of portals.
It's MSN Chat art! Regrettably I didn't save any of the pictures before the Cat & Mari. So, Kel, Sef, Nary, the solo Cat and some other random stuff was lost.
Cat was talking to Nary about getting a picture of him and Mari. Out of the kindness of my heart (and to give me something to do) I did one of my own.
This one was kind of random as I had an image of a cat-dude leaning against a table and voilà, Random Cat-dude leaning against a table.
Because it wouldn't be MSN Chat for me without him (well it would but It's been a while since I drew him. Sooo... ). That's right, it's Nuff.
At this point I decided I'd actually try and draw everyone who was in the chat. I loved trying to do GreenCoyote. Something about the reference picture I used, I couldn't get enough of.
And last on the list, Bobdaninjer. I've never seen a picture of him, but he was kind enough to describe himself to me as "tall, thin, and Jewfro." I like to think he's digging through his pockets to pay me for the picture.
After finishing the pictures of the group-chatters, I requested some ideas of what to draw next. The responses came back for a Cat-girl Butter. Realizing I had not drawn myself and seeing the vote was relatively unanimous I decided "What the hell?" And thus, Cat-girl Butter was born.

Re: ButterBall's Workings
I made a layer over the planet set it's opacity to 61%, colored the planet black, then took the eraser and set it to soft round 300 pixels, and carefully erased the black until you see what's there.
I'm not sure I follow you on how the stars have too much color.

Re: ButterBall's Workings
what i meant about day-night was the cloudy boundary. that's what i like about it
what i mean about the stars is that the colors are too bright. they'd look better if you used softer (whiter) colors.

Re: ButterBall's Workings
The bright star colors was actually something I appreciated, but I'll readily admit it's because of my nostalgia for the old space games. It reminded me of Star Control 2 and Galactic Battle and other space-faring gems of my childhood.

If you're happy, then I'm happy.
Re: ButterBall's Workings
It reminded me of this:
And, yeah, good work and everything. I still think you should draw more people, though. 8D
