That looks pretty nice, kinda like something you'd find in a science book illustration
The stem looks good already, but I think the dome is still a little bit flat looking, you might want to remove the red outlines on the top part of the dome that is lit by the light

too much outline. That why i'm trying this kind of painting again right now, but this time i'm drawing a scorpion instead.

i thought i'd do a quick paint-over to hopefully give some tips and help
hope it isn't too confusing, it does look like a lot to keep track of, but if you keep practicing it'll eventually be like muscle memory to you


also look at lots of references, it's the most helpful thing, especially with an animal like a scorpion which looks really complicated form and anatomy-wise

It's just a few small differences really, you're work is already not bad, just needs a little bit improvements, but the important thing is that you enjoy doing it
