Re: bugboy's art, concept art, fanarts
some guy on my newgrounds account asked me if i could do him a favor.
he asked if i could do three paintings of three different themes for some music contest he's trying to do
and offered me 50$ for the three paintings
the first theme is jungle so this is the drawing i came up with

Easily some of the best original stuff on the forums here! Kudos all around.
I can only assume that you've considered a career as a concept artist, freelance or otherwise? Because man, you could easily nab jobs like that depending on how fast you can shove this stuff out.

Yup, right now i'm aiming to be a concept artist but i also consider other careers like illustratorsDadrobit wrote:Easily some of the best original stuff on the forums here! Kudos all around.

Although right now my arts are still amateur-ish compared to the really detailed works of professional concept artists
Thankfully my parents fully support my decision to attend a concept art school in singapore so hopefully i'll reach that level of art and get to live my dream job

It's always good if you love what you are doing (school, work, ...). Makes life a lot easier
Btw: you saw that you just got 50$ for painting some great paintings? There are people who will pay you a lot more to paint something for them ^,^
I don't think you will have problems finding a job given your current skill and that you will most likely visit an art school to refine them.

cyber lights
yesterday i saw myperson54's cyberpunk vs dieselpunk poll and got inspired to do a cyberpunk drawing
two figures engage in conversations as rain falls down on this dystopian city. The neon lights of the bustling night life below covered with millions of tiny rain droplets begins to emanate bright, colorful ,misty hues of magenta, blue, and green, brightening up the reflective concretes that holds the city together.

wow. Impressive.
The contents of this sketchbook could easily populate the world of some game/movie (some sci-fy setting with some big creatures that they fight with their robots/vehicles/weapons or something ^,^)

Actually, most of the creature sketches are part of a world that i've been creating.
They're part of the world of 'the pods'. A drawing that i posted here a few pages ago
The world is basically divided into two continents and a continent-sized shallow reef after a human-caused cataclysm.
For example,In the last two images. I imagine them to be creatures of the skeleton sea. An area of the sea in the secondary continent where the water is quite acidic, causing the local marine life to have plated, skeleton-like features and shells, generally yellowish-white coloration, and sunken eye sockets. but acidic water isn't the main reason they look like that. The floors of the skeleton sea is riddled with actual skeletons of colossal marine animals that often die in that area. This environment has led the creatures there to slowly evolve into looking like skeletons, skulls, ribcages, etc either to hide from predators or ambush a prey amongst the dead bodies
Alright, this is getting a bit long. I tend to get overly excited when talking about this world

here's some photos of my evil lair bedroom
i'm not kidding when i said my room looks like an insectarium.
welp, people don't just call me bugboy for no reason
some of my pets
been so busy lately that i don't have time to draw, let alone do the sketch requests on my sketch thread
but i'm working on some drawings recently and hopefully i'll be able to make the sketch requests some time soon
