Damn, dude. You seem to know your stuff.
I'll try to keep a lot of this in mind when making things in future. Thanks.

Unfortunately small details, like tipping the tea cup, require actual artistic talent to be able to redraw an object from another angle. Something I tend to lack at the moment. Hopefully with time I can at least mimic what Tom's work would look like, but until then I'm kind of limited with what I can do.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Currently I'm using GIMP for my animations and edits. I'm sure there are better programs out there, but it gets the job done.

ahhhh so .gif animations! well, if you don't mind waving goodbye to your money, adobe flash isn't too bad, and flash can export to .gif! i was just curious, because last time i checked, flash doesn't really have local raster image support, and if it did i would like to know how :)

Idk what the current status is but Krita is getting animation support (the latest version compiled from git that I use already supports it. I don't know if the stable already has it).

I don't bookmark many individual threads. This post made me bookmark yours. Seriously, good job man.

Edit: might I suggest putting a link to this thread in your sig so people won't miss out on this.

Cheers guys
It feels good to know I'm getting better at this stuff.

Unfortunately it's not as smooth as I would have liked. I had to delete two thirds of the blinking frames because Gimp couldn't convert the layer speeds above 10ms.

But it worked out ok in the end.

Sort of mixed feelings about this one.
Some aspects I liked while others not so much.

Minor gripe: the first speech bubble disappeared a bit too quickly for me to read through. Maybe coulda broken that up into two or something. No big deal though. :)
Other than that, this is a really great animation. Also, that "widescreen aspect ratio" sort of layout makes this look really cool.
