Xamali 3d modelling and drawing

#1 Post by xamali »

So, not exactly drawings, but still, I believe this is the place for this thread. The program I'm using is Blender, which I started only a while ago, and before that I used Maya. (Blender is definitely better >.>
So, this is what I made yesterday:

Well, took me some time, specially because I couldn't really work as much on it as I would have liked. Anyway, this here I did to practice modelling something a bit more difficult, with more details to it. Unfortunately, for some reason I just couldn't manage to render the image =/ (Not that I had given it texture but, oh well).

Haha! Just though about trying to make a model of you, wearing the hat xD
But I think it's a bit out of my league (Or perhaps... xD)
Let me get a shot at texturing with a UV map, and I will try that xD

Well, gave a shot at using UV mapping, and texturing, also downloaded a "leather material" to help a bit, but well that's the result:

It looks a bit crappy to me, but well, was the first time I tried modelling something without any kind of aid. xD

Make it flashy blue and call it crystal armor.

It's just a tiny bit too reflective, and doesn't look like leather, but hey, it looks like decent armor all right.
