I like how you worked with the screw thread. But I think the pencil is a little too darker.
I've a question where did you shoot the Siberian Tigers?

Re: ticoun's photography thread! 10/8/12 (A drawing???)
The threads were a pain in the [censored]! I've drawn them at least three times. The nib was drawn four times, and the grip section twice. Tried to draw the cap next to the pen but failed horribly.
The tigers were shot at the St-Félicien zoo, which is not far from where I live.
Time for some more pictures!
This Willis piano was made in 1914, we'll celebrate its centennial in 2014.

Re: ticoun's photography thread! 11/8/12 (Vintage style)
Here are some fresh pics taken today.
This is my first attempt at HDR photography. It's a sculpture called "Équilibre". ("Balance" for you english speakers. ) Three frames exposed differently and merged into one HDR image with the free HDRtist app from the mac app store.

Here's a brand new boxcar. Don't see that often.

Re: ticoun's photography thread! 20/8/12 (HDR and Boxcar)
For the hdr photography you need at least 10 pictures, to get the full resolution of the process. the first picture can be black and the last white it doesn't matter but yo have to catch the full dynamic range.
Nice pictures
EDIT:
This is HDR

Re: ticoun's photography thread! 23/8/12 (Double Rainbow)
Hot damn amazing photo's.
Wow. Excellent professional quality. The focus is clear, the exposure is just damn perfect, textures of the foreground objects blend in perfectly with the peripheral surroundings and background. You can tell clearly what the photographer wants the audience to focus on. Your photo's are eye candies. ISO, F. Stop and shutter cycle rate are all perfectly balanced.
Now just please don't tell me you used full auto point and shoot.

I use a DSLR, more specifically a Pentax *istDL2. It's a very decent camera for its age (it was made in 2006). One day I'll upgrade to a K-30 or a K-5, but right now the *istDL2 does the job more than well enough.
Here are some samples from my mineral collection.

Here's some random doodling I did during a philosophy class while listening to the teacher.

I drew this during Leoian's livestream. I was too lazy to reproduce the impint on the handle.

Nice drawing but the blade shape isn't exactly like that, the angle is a little too marked

Yeah, I noticed it after taking the picture, but I feared that I wouldn't be able to make it better so I left it as is.leoian wrote:Nice drawing but the blade shape isn't exactly like that, the angle is a little too marked
I'm back from a trip to Chandler, QC. I took a metric buttload of pictures during that trip, so here's the first part of a massive update.

Time for another drawing!
Here I have drawn the Peggy's Cove lighthouse, located in the tiny fishing village of Peggy's Cove in Nova Scotia. I've been there in 2006, and I would return any day!
