I had an idea for Chapter 6's cover page, and I felt I had to draw it.

Do you have a place where I can read this easily from the beginning? I want to avoid having to sift through the thread to find the pages.

Pages of the webcomic?ConkerBirdy wrote:Do you have a place where I can read this easily from the beginning? I want to avoid having to sift through the thread to find the pages.
The webcomic hasn't 'launched' yet. I'm on an indefinite hiatus so I can improve my art and develop my storytelling skills, as well as the story itself.

I'd made 20 pages the first time. They were all bad. I recently recalled the prologue page and chapter 1 intro because I decided to scrap the intros and do a full prologue chapter, because the intro idea was bad, and I thought the prologue idea would better introduce the story.ConkerBirdy wrote:Ha, sounds like me, i posted 1 page and then decided to cancel it until i fix my art, story, and the designs.RedDwarfIV wrote:Pages of the webcomic?ConkerBirdy wrote:Do you have a place where I can read this easily from the beginning? Work In Progress:
Originally a cargo craft used by Armathas Research to transport materials and products from one facility to another, Armathas One has been the organisation's base of operations since the loss of the Armathas 12 station.
Intimidating enough, do you think?

My anatomy has been a bit iffy as of late, so in lue of life drawing, I tried to rotoscope a screenshot from Criminal Minds.

Heads and such, ya mean? Well, for the dude in the middle, his chin (which is in the foreground and covers his neck in the original) has in your image receded to fuse with what then remains of his neck.
With the others, I feel that your keeping your eye design and size without bringing over your head design and size has gotten the proportions out of sync. In this case I think it's just a matter of your style not lining up with the IRL proportions that you're forcing it to cover.
What am I saying I don't even art

Exactly! My style is inaccurate, so why does it look right?EvilNinjadude wrote:Heads and such, ya mean? Well, for the dude in the middle, his chin (which is in the foreground and covers his neck in the original) has in your image receded to fuse with what then remains of his neck.

Its a multitude of things, first off, the picture itself is a bit hard to see a lot of details so it wasnt good to begin with, second, these types of studies requires you to break down the picture into shapes then trace it. Unfortunately, even I found the picture hard to trace so i had to do my proportions afterwards.RedDwarfIV wrote:My anatomy has been a bit iffy as of late, so in lue of life drawing, I tried to rotoscope a screenshot from Criminal Minds.

The point of these is to keep as much of the original composition and anatomy as possible, not a good idea to mix your style into it, you only do that when referencing a picture or pose.
Here is a few sources to get some pictures for references or study:
Posemaniacs You got turnable 3D images.
Pose-Emporium Meant for all round posing practice.
Comic Reference More comic book action poses, a lot of useful and awesome stuff.
I dont know if you do it or not, but its best to have lots of random pictures where you practice little things like faces, hands, eyes, that way when you do full pictures you retain knowledge from your practices.

Cheers Conkerbirdy, this is what my intuition told me was right but I could only explain it as well as I knew how.
