But eyes are so easy, well they are if you keep them simple. Now hands, those are just a nightmare.

Well thanks, though the second one I like a little more because of its fit to one of my demon characters.

Last one for now, used a different technique for the lines. I really do like this one.

Out of the previous two pictures, I liked the demon eye's coloring. You had nice gradation from shadow to light. And i like the light lines on this most recent eye.

I kind of like them light like that, kind of matching the skin in a way. Straight black seems to be a bit too much.

Thank you, the demon one was just trying out a different kind of color palette.
The most recent one is my favorite, I tried to clean up the lines a bit too.

Linked due to size
This is another one similar to my most recent one.
I should have some actual pieces up with what I learned from these soon.

Thank you, though when you work with a detail that is this small normally, at least with digital work you use a high resolution and a large image to start with.
With traditional work it is much harder, usually go with a large canvas or starting image. most of the time you wont be doing full body pieces so you can usually get away with waist up or just a persons bust. It all depends on the context, take a look at how Tom sets up his panels and viewpoints. I hope this helps.

Newest work linked for size
Something I did quickly while I was at the Dungeons and dragons group I got into recently. My character is an avian or winged elf who hides his wings under a cloak of disguise self.

He has a horribly dark back story ending with him being banished from his home and ending up on a wayward island nation.

I could do similar ones like these as commissions if people like this.

Well I have a few pose books that I used back for a my drawing class and even before that. This is my attempt at a piece starting out tracing one of the models just to see how it would come out. I like it and think I should do more practice like this just to teach my hands just what they should be doing.

Enjoy this little fairy girl as I continue to attempt to improve.

And the current progress on the crying angel piece.

Tell me what you think and enjoy.

Went back and did a little more on Narene, still have no last name for her though.

Tried to do a bit of a setting and background for her, might add a few clouds in or something. Still trying to work on shading, bit by bit I think I might get it right someday.

Also don't complain about her height to weight I went and looked up average healthy weights for a woman that tall.

Comments are always welcome and encouraged.

So after forever I actually post something.

One of the pieces I did from this semester.
Honestly I am a bit proud of how well this came out.

So I decided to color that piece from before.
Colored pencil after I inked up the lines, enjoy.

I recognize that as one of Jesonite's pictures, either heavily referenced or tried to copy i dont know. When using references its more or less suggested you only use them as a guideline or at least try and change it i guess.

Well yes, I used one of his sketches as a reference. Though this is from forever ago, I think I might try to redo her later.
