Wow, that is one awesome set up, and it is so great to see you again.
Your artwork is always such a gem when we get to see it.

XD Captures his reaction nicely I think. At least until their link potentially screws with his head.

The tablet has pretty good sensitivity. From a technical standpoint, the newer Wacoms have higher pressure sensitivity. It's not perfect, but in terms of performance for your money, it works and it does it for ~1/3 the price of a Cintiq. It takes a lot of force to hit full pressure, but in the low end, the sensitivity is very good - and unless you're regularly using brushes that are like a thousand pixels you won't really notice the technically lower sensitivity. It is on par with or superior to my old Intuos 3.

Response-wise, there's basically no cursor lag. It also doesn't seem to require calibration, though it has an option for it. The drivers work well, with one caveat - I have to tell it after every reboot which monitor to map to. It's just opening the driver window after each reboot and selecting it from a drop down, it remembers every other setting just fine, I just have to tell it monitor 2 instead of monitor 1. Annoying, but not a deal breaker. I don't restart that often.

The tablet's real weakness is the monitor half. The viewing angles aren't great, the resolution is nonstandard (16:10, 1440x900), it's VGA only, it has some square-ness/pixelation when viewed closely despite the good pixel pitch. There is a new tablet from yiynova, the MVP22UHD, which uses an IPS panel instead of the 19U and 22U's TFT-TN panels. Also fixes the viewing angles and monitor resolution. Minor issue, but the small rubber grippy on the stylus fell apart pretty fast. But it was so small and thin, there is basically no difference with it taken off. The stylus uses a single AAA battery, but the stylus isn't heavy and balances perfectly from the middle. I'm sure there are bad stylii that are too fat, imbalanced, too heavy, etc, but this isn't one of them. Wacom's wireless, batteryless stylus isn't the only way - though it's still nice.

I really like the tablet's size. I've tried a couple Cintiqs before, the 12WX and 21UX. The former was too small and it affected usability, and the latter was way too big - the hotkeys on the right side of it were actually a complete pain in the [censored] to use. The newer ones have all the keys on the left side. I think the Nostromo I have is a better solution overall, though, and I'd probably want one even if I had a Cintiq. It's also LED backlit, which helps with the small form factor and keeps the whole thing cool to the touch. Makes it comfortable to use it in my lap, which was basically unthinkable with the 21UX.

In that panel, once colored, he'd be fading out like he's blocking the link - giving Natani some privacy while he continues with his work. While the comic will be a rather naughty one, I don't think it really needs to delve into any kind of 'what would they feel over the link if...' scenarios. I've thought about it, thought about how I would panel it out, but overall it just seems like it would have the potential to just put people off of the comic.

Oh wow, thank you so much for this breakdown. I really appreciate it. Sounds like it really is a nice tablet, the monitor issue can probably be worked around no biggy. I think I'll seriously take a look at getting one of these since my little tablet the old Bamboo Fun is just starting to go on me. Well I've never had an issue with any stylus so sans-grippy part wont matter. I'm glad there is finally a different option other than the Cintuqs. At least now I don't have to sell a kidney for a decent tablet. I am definitely going to recommend this kind of tablet to friends of mine who are looking at getting one, yes it might not be the industry leader or the best you can get but it sound like it is still a solid piece of tech.
Thank you for all your help SlowFag.

No problem. Honestly, so long as you understand that the tablet isn't perfect before buying it, and your expectations aren't for it to be the-most-amazing-and-bestest-tablet-ever-that-will-solve-all-your-problems, then you won't be disappointed. It's a great tablet. It has some shortcomings. The way I have described it to friends is that it's 90% of the performance of a Cintiq for 30% of the price. That doesn't wholly capture it, though, since it does some things better than a Cintiq. It does, however, highlight just how much more value you're getting for your money.

I would also say that mine came with no dead or stuck pixels, and IIRC (which I may not), from the warranty card, they accept 1 dead/stuck pixel as the maximum (and may still replace at their discretion if it's in the center of the screen or something). The tablet is also quite solid and well put together. I had some serious doubts about it going in, since it's made-in-China electronics. The stand leaves a little bit to be desired, but it does have VESA mounting holes (so you can just choose your own stand/monitor arm), and I often just use the tablet in my lap anyway.

If you're really interested in getting one, you can google up some reviews. I read some on conceptart.org and a few other websites (I think Frenden was the one that went most in-depth?) before I bought mine.

Been a long time since I updated this thread. I think this one should be okay posted like this.

Image

You can see the uncensored version on my FA. Spent quite a lot of time on this, wanted to have a ref sheet of my own, as well as an example for selling more of them as commissions. Served as good practice for a lot of things.

Some porn of Krystal that I just kinda did for practice, filled the male in via a YCH auction.

Another NSFW pic, this one featuring one of Artica's characters. This was originally going to be a sketch, but they opted to upgrade it to a full color thing partway through.

And to wrap things up, a WIP shot of an upcoming commission. It'll have to be put on the back burner while I take care of the Christmas-themed ones first. Again, it's very NSFW.

Hello. I'm back again, with another finished (and NSFW) commission. This time it's a pic of Renamon.

Next on my to-do list is actually some TwoKinds related work, a picture of Kat. Here's the concept.

Also, that's some pretty strategic scarf placement.
