[COMPLETE] Twokinds Website Maintenance
Greetings!
Sometime in the next couple days (Friday, 26 March - Monday, 29 March EDT), we will be migrating the main Twokinds website to a new server. We're not sure yet if this will cause any downtime for the website, but if it does go down, rest assured we'll be actively working on it!
This maintenance affects only the main website. Other websites such as the forum will not have any downtime.
Please reply to this thread with any questions or concerns you have.
UPDATE 2021-03-29 9:17 AM EDT (13:17 UTC): The site migration appears to be complete. If you encounter any problems, please let me know on this thread.

Re: [COMPLETE] Twokinds Website Maintenance
Not sure if this is related, but since then, I've been getting a security error when trying to load the site on one of my computers.
{
An error occurred during a connection to twokinds.keenspot.com. Peer reports incompatible or unsupported protocol version. Error code: SSL_ERROR_PROTOCOL_VERSION_ALERT
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.
}
I don't get it on my phone or laptop, but my desktop just gives me this error. XP, running FF52.

Re: [COMPLETE] Twokinds Website Maintenance
The new server supports only the newer TLS 1.3 protocol. That version ships in Firefox 40 and up (disabled), but you may need to enable it manually on your old system, especially if you have updates disabled.Bellhead wrote: ↑Tue Mar 30, 2021 1:00 am Not sure if this is related, but since then, I've been getting a security error when trying to load the site on one of my computers.

From the about:config page, search "security.tls.version.max" and set the value to 4.

Did that. Same issue, now with this:Turaiel wrote: ↑Tue Mar 30, 2021 1:10 amThe new server supports only the newer TLS 1.3 protocol. That version ships in Firefox 40 and up (disabled), but you may need to enable it manually on your old system, especially if you have updates disabled.

It looks like your network security settings might be causing this. Do you want the default settings to be restored?

Re: [COMPLETE] Twokinds Website Maintenance
Registered account here to say I am having the same problem. The TwoKinds main website is not totally inaccessible on both browsers I have, Internet Explorer and Waterfox. (It actually has been inaccessible through Internet Explorer for a year or longer now, it would always give me an alert that it wasn't secure but I could go into options and turn on "TLS 3.0" to go through anyway--but that never worked. Now it's just saying "page cannot be loaded" period, as if the URL is incorrect.)
The website has continued to work in Waterfox, right up until a few days ago. Now I am having the same issue that Bellhead above is reporting, and going into about:config and changing that "security.tls.version.max" to 4 and that does not change anything. (I also had looked online and saw something that suggested changing that value to 0, which I also tried, but that didn't help either.)

Re: [COMPLETE] Twokinds Website Maintenance
I had some free time so i decided to check if the site worked on some of the obscure browsers i sometimes use. Hope This helps you debug the issue:
GNU/icecat 60.7.0esr (64-bit) does not load. Fails with:
tls.version.max is set to 4
Forum loads without problem
Lynx Version 2.8.9dev.16 (11 Jul 2017)
libwww-FM 2.14, SSL-MM 1.4.1, GNUTLS 3.5.17, ncurses 6.1.20180127(wide)
Also fails with the not so helpful message:
Forum load fine
Even my standar firefox complains a little. Page loads but:
Hope it helps!

Re: [COMPLETE] Twokinds Website Maintenance
I've contacted our server admin to see if we can get TLS 1.2 enabled to work with legacy browsers. However, this problem will occur more and more to you as sites upgrade their security. I recommend upgrading your browsers to something more modern to work properly.
P.S. I fixed editing on this forum.

Re: [COMPLETE] Twokinds Website Maintenance
Ok lynx is probably my fault since i barely even understand how it works. Icecat is latest stable version , and based on firefox, but to be fair nothing works on that browser and that is by design. The only weird thing is my quite standard Mozilla 87.0 Firefox Release March 23, 2021 does show that some page elements (such as images) are not secure.
