A welcoming chat!

#1 Post by Myperson54 »

Hey all! I haven't been a new user for quite a while now, but there are a lot of new users joining us as of late. If you ever feel like interacting with some forumites in a more immediate manner, then by all means check out our Discord server!

(In case you don't know what Discord is, it's our replacement for buggy, slow Skype. You can get it here, or use a web browser to join our chat.)

Feel free to stop in and say hi - it's a great way to connect with some of the community outside this board.

If a mod wants me to move this, my apologies, I will.

I can vouch for the board, it's a good chat, lot of longtime friendly members, myself one of them. If you ever want a place to come say hi, feel free and pop by. There's always a few of us online at any time.

What's wrong with the official IRC channel?

Also a lot of friendly people.
If it moves but shouldn't: Duct tape. If it doesn't move but should: WD-40. With a hammer everything fits, and if it still doesn't fit: bigger hammer. If it can't be fixed with a hammer it's an electrical problem.

Internet Relay Chat is unwieldy and has one of the most archaic, and frankly, hideous interfaces I've ever seen.

And I've heard from some of our other members that the IRC is openly hostile to new people.

It's not more or less hostile than other IRC channels (totally not 2k related) I'm in.

Just don't say too much, and think before you type.

There's nothing wrong with the IRC, this is just a different group of users. You don't have to use one or the other, use both for all I care.

I'm not posting this as a matter of competition, rather a friendly invitation.

I guess that a Discord is a good idea :D

Sype chat is full of cool people, but skype itself is annoying (takes forever to start)
