Any that you could recommend?
I think that it would be done best by having people post their top 5 anime

I can't put a number on them, choosing 5 was already a hard thing to do.

Anime:
Cowboy Bebop, Bleach, D. Grayman, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Serial Experiments Lain.

Manga:
D. Grayman, Mahou Sensei Negima, Berserk, Bleach and FLCL.

This list is chaotic, as it changes about every damn second I think about it.

Hmmm.... top 5 of anime

#1 D. Grayman (incomplete)
#2 Bleach (incomplete, hate their filler arc that last 40-50 episodes XD)
#3 Naruto/Naruto Shippuuden (incomplete)
#4 FLCL (complete)
#5 Claymore (complete)

Wolf's Rain, Ghost in the Shell [any or all of them], Last Exile, Twelve Kingdoms, most of Hayao Miyazaki's works.

eh, the only one I really watch is Naruto (original japanese w/ english subs) If you watch the american versions, you lose alot. But even so, I like reading the Naruto manga better than watching it.

I have heard that bleach is good

Oh, and Death Note (original japanese w/ english subs) is awesome.

The only anime I every really got into was Ruroni Kenshin. It's an excellent action series mixed with comedy, and a little bit of drama. Definitely worth the watch.

In my opinion, Wolf's Rain was really great. But the last episode wasn't really great in my opinion. Two days later I was still in a 'What The Hell' mode. Maybe I didn't understood it quite well....

Bleach.
Naruto.
Full Metal Alchemist (The anime actually sucks; read the manga; it's much better, though still incomplete).
D. Grey Man (I'd suggest both reading and watching, because DGM filler episodes tend to fit in rather seamlessly with the story from what little I've seen).

Overall, I suggest actually reading the manga over watching the anime. This is the site I use for all of the above and more:

Scrapped Princess is good. I'd never seen anything like that before.

Inukami since no one mentioned it yet.
I am probably the only person who is against Flora having a child.
