Fallout: The Broken Peace OOC thread

#1 Post by Hotep the psychic »

((To begin ill go ahead and say that this RP will use some characters from the games, so to be safe Fallout is owned and made by Bethesda not me))

War, War never changes. Our past shows that history rewrites itself the same way over and over again, but did it count on our humanistic choices? Did it see what we couldn’t? If it did, we never saw signs. and those who did chose to do nothing. I’ve lost count How many years it’s been since the day the bombs fell. But I do know what started it all.

War......WW2 a fight between so very cruel that it advanced everyone to a point that we saw one choice for peace. Nuclear Power. what could have ended countless lives we turned to be a token of peace around the world. hunger, pain, disease all gone with the power of ionic, fusion, and energetic uses. My god it was the greatest time since trading food with the reds in japan. however, someone struck back, a stab in the back that made bombs fall everywhere.

when everyone woke it would be at different times, fighting, suicide, power were the new goals in surviving what came. those who saw and survived passed on. and generations died off. But we all know that peace was a longshot only for the select few to strive and die within their own ways.

Are we just something to die off, or are we a race of beings that fights its survival by seeing truths. whatever the case we do not give in, we are human. we fight, we solve, we adapt.

Background:

It’s been 25 years since the end results of FALLOUT 4. To be more specific The Institute has fallen to The Brotherhood of Steel, And the Minutemen who both saw the common enemy to face. The battle although hard fought made everyone in the commonwealth see that there was forces in the world to help the people. within the first Five Years After this The brotherhood had to change. Elder Maxson himself took time to speak with Preston Garvey and The Dweller to see things to do. To honor one of his Best Knights and Paladins he redid the focus of the Brotherhoods enemy’s. He named it The Danse Accord and with it Gave rights to all Synths remaining able to join the brotherhood should they feel it right for their own choices. And that Synths although human in looks and although still machines have the consciousness to be human in their own way. Paladin Danse showed that even as a synth He was the most human they knew without the thought of it. He had rose in Ranks and was highly accepted as one of their own. Now in the Airport base in the common wealth stands a Statue in his name. showing that synths too can be Brothers in arms.

The Minutemen during this time shared the same views and had fully retaken what was lost. Making the old Fort their Original headquarters and a centerpiece to their name. It wouldn’t be until the fifth year (2292) that This Great Group finds an abandoned Free Masons Building that hid a vault underneath it. Inside they would find history, weapons, museums all held within its walls to show that Americas history would always live on. As well as Elders that remained of surviving Vault dwellers. by 2294 The Minutemen Would Be Called The Order of Masons. who sought out to revive America and keep the peace of settlements in trouble. Should they find anything about Americas history they would add it to their collection in use of seeing how it was viewed in the past or repurposed to its original state. This ideal view made Sanctuary stand tall and newly refurbished and one of the most thriving settlements of the day with trade, food, water, and living space.

However Like many large things expanse was to happen. The Masons and the brotherhood met with any remaining guilds and with the resources collected made a large Exploration Team to set out and find a new place to settle. Hoping that things could change for others out in the wastelands. Elder Maxson left for new Vegas and other settlements in California to regroup other BOS bases and tell of their success. Preston would stay in the commonwealth, Letting Cait, take on the leading role for his name with the Exploration group.

2305, The time the group of the commonwealth found their new haven. A small town that would become known as Crusade Capitol that sat within the borders of Oklahoma, Kansas and Colorado. A place that grew throughout the years and became a place of central trade for caravans and a Guild center for many. Among the top who held power within its walls were the Brotherhood of steel, The Mason Order, And The Prewar Core. each one had jobs within the Town and all shared a common Goal. Keep a peace that brought everyone to change their views on the world around them. To keep hope Alive. The Town itself has come to be a thorn in many enemy’s side including Caesars Legion. However he stays his side down After the Core set up shop within Texas nearby.

Today things have been looking up in the capitol city and events have shown change to come. now it’s time for the next generation to see to the future.

YAY! now let’s get into the details!

Guilds! -well Factions...

The Brotherhood of Steel: This mighty band of power armor wearing conventional arms dealing and energy weapon wielding giants have come to see that old Prewar Tech is a dangerous factor for enemies who seek it. Knowing how bad Nukes can be and the power they can hold in the wrong hands leaves them to be a group that feels the need to put a stop and show off the power arm they hold. This band holds a large collection of Power Armor and laser weaponry along with an Active Prime unit that aided the defeat of the Institute in the Commonwealth. To those who join are given standard weaponry and hold military standards of teamwork and effort to heart. Elder Maxson still Runs the Entire Operation with His Son who will take his place in the future.

The Order of Free Masons: Once known as the Minutemen, Now stand tall around the US as a peace going band. This guild has come to be well recognized as a settlements Police and defensive force that can answer near any call for help now. They are usually seen hand in hand on patrols with The brotherhood knights working to lower raider problems and seek out salvageable tech and history. today they are the main defense of the capitol city and the leading guild who has refurbished old prewar tech to a "factory new" standard.

The Prewar Core: This New band started small. A handful of people that saw teamwork as a valuable asset to surviving the glowing sea's and the wastes. Upon Arriving to Capitol city when it was being Constructed this group took its time learning the history and skills to help out in the city’s defense, salvage, and construction. Today this band holds a large Military force of prewar tech and is the leading marketer and trader of vehicles and military weapons. This is due to their lucky hold on one of the large Texas Military bases that holds an entire Munitions Lab in an underground Bunker. this is the only group that has contact with Russia and Trade deals with them as well as vehicles rebuilt from a forgotten time. should they choose they could easily wipe out the Brotherhood of steel. However, they too share common interests of peace and move to help everywhere they can.

Other factions of the many games fallout have made are available as well! these are the three mains guilds to be seen in Capitol city. IE (Caesars legion, the railroad, and the Chinese Remnants can be told of or be a part of as well in character creation)

Took a while to iron out the bio and stuff, but here's my sheet. I know of at least one other person who's planning on joining, but I can't speak as to the state of their character sheet.
Appearance: In a good humor, for a change.
Stands at around 5'9, although her boots add another inch or so.

Name: SFC Rae J Foley

Age: 34

Gender: Female

Race: Human

Faction: New California Republic. Sort of. Maybe?

Occupation: Sergeant First Class, Ranger, Scout. Mechanic.

Inventory:
-10x Radaway
-10x Stimpacks
-Bandages
-3x Fusion Cores
-Set of Lockpicks
-3x Nuka-Cola Cherry
-Antique Pocket Watch (Actually functioning!)
-357 Caps

Weapons:
A unique 10mm pistol that's been completely retooled by Gun Runner technicians. 10-round magazine. No external modifications, if you don't count the etching on the slide that reads 'James'. Surprisingly not capable of accepting a suppressor, at least not without further modification.
A custom Marksman Carbine, capable of firing full-auto. Chambered in 5.56. 30-round magazine. Has a reflex sight mounted. Assumedly a custom Gun-Runner build. Kept in pristine condition. 'Caitlyn' is etched into the receiver. Can be suppressed.
A DKS-501 Sniper Rifle chambered in .50BMG. 7-round magazine. Custom-built by the Gun Runners, every part hand-tooled and hand-assembled. Equipped with a 6x scope and monopod. Muzzle break is removable and can be exchanged for a suppressor. Not that a suppressor does much, though. Etched into the receiver is 'Mack'.
A Combat Knife. Nothing particularly special about it.
Two frag grenades, one plasma, and one Pulse.
Her fists. An unarmed Ranger is deadlier than you might think.

Apparel: A full set of NCR Veteran Ranger armor, complete with duster. Tan pants, standard brown duster. Faded, scarred black armor. Black gloves, black boots. The pants have been lined with an aramid weave, offering good ballistic resistance as well as a slight improvement to energy resistance. The duster has many steel alloy and polymer plates sewn into its lining, creating the long-coat equivalent to a Jack of Plate. It is then also lined with a similar aramid weave to the pants. Due to all the extra weight, the duster billows very little. Armor is unmodified, post-war manufacture, simple Titanium alloy plates with a soft aramid weave backing. Overall the protection is comparative to a full suit of Combat Armor, but lighter and easier to move in.
A matching mask & helmet. Titanium alloy helmet, faded black like the armor. Ballistic polymer mask, reinforced with steel plates for rigidity. Rubber seals maintain an airtight environment, and rubber pads make for a comfortable fit. Impact-resistant polycarbonate lenses with integrated night vision. Also black, but much less faded than the helmet or armor, because polymer. Lenses are red, and light up the same red when the night vision is active. Not terribly conducive to stealth, but highly useful nonetheless. The mask is also a fully-functional gasmask, filtering out almost everything but pure air. Has a voice amp to make the person wearing it actually audible. The helmet has a flashlight and IR laser attached to the side, as well as a comm system.
A small assortment of tank tops that Rae wears under the armor.
Undergarments, of course.

Extra Items: Ten sets of NCR dogtags. One of them hers. An empty holotape.

Background: The Foleys owned a ranch out west, in the Nevada area. On the smaller end of things. They got by alright, though they still had the occasional hardships. Rae grew up on this ranch, working the field with her father and two older brothers. She grew up hearing tales of the Courier's deeds, and how much they had helped out the NCR. This led to her joining the NCR Army as soon as she was old enough, where she spent several years working as an engineer. She later transferred to the Rangers, as a combat engineer. After an indeterminate amount of service she was given Veteran status, along with all the benefits therein.

In more recent times, Rae was assigned to a ten-man recon unit as the senior NCO. Said recon team was sent into Texas, to investigate Crusade and make contact with the city's leaders if possible. The expedition didn't go as planned. Rae was the only survivor. And while she has, technically, made contact with the city's leaders, and otherwise poked around the city, she has yet to actually fill out a report and send it back to the NCR.

Rae set up shop in a garage near the outskirts of Crusade, finding it to be full of tools and parts, as well as one partially assembled Lone Wanderer series motorcycle. Sometime later she met a strange fellow who brought in a set of nearly-destroyed Enclave Hellfire power armor, asking her to repair it. She agreed, although there were several stipulations.

Misc: Has a fully restored functional '77 Lone Wanderer Motorbike. Also a garage full of tools and equipment. And random clutter. Also serves as her home in Crusade.

If it's alright, I'm gonna save a spot here and edit in my character sheet later. I'm still very interested in this, but I don't have much knowledge of fallout 4 XP

Fallout 4 specific knowledge isn't really required, just general Fallout verse stuff. Although even that isn't /truly/ required, if you just ask a lot of questions.

(Alternatively you could be a Vault Dweller who has literally no idea about anything, other than basic Vault knowledge. Because that's pretty much all they know.)

Sorry for being so slow! Here's mine:

Appearance: "Ain't I just a darlin'?"

Name: Barry Hoven. He's got a thing for renaming himself, however, currently going by "Wando the Wanderer"

Age: He couldn't tell you from memory, but at least 100

Gender: Male

Race: Ghoul

Faction: Ex-Regulator

Occupation: "Professional Roamer", aka a bounty hunter

Bag:

10 Rad-Away
10 Stimpacks
Radio
3 bottles of Rot Gut (for molotovs or drinking. Depends on how bored he is)
Multi-tool
Mirrored Sunglasses
2 flares
242 caps

Weapons:

Desert Eagle: Classic high-powered magnum. Barry's favorite.

Shotgun: Standard double-barrel. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done.

Scoped Hunting Rifle: Long range isn't much of Barry's thing, but he knows how to do a little sniping.

Louisville Slugger: His fifteenth. As much as he loves a good skull-cracking every now and then, the damn things never last

Throwing Knives(10): More for [censored] and giggles than for actual combat.

Molotov Cocktail(3): Barry's other favorite.

Extra Items: A chain bracelet with his name etched on a metal plate connecting it. He can't remember when he acquired it or if it was ever actually his, but he protects it fiercely

Background:

To Barry, it's about living in the now. Remembering the past that made him who he is today is a lost cause, a distant memory that's foggier than a winter evening. Not from lack of want, as he's always one to tell stories, but he's pretty sure that the human brain wasn't supposed to hold memories well for how long he's lived. He knows he had a life before, and here and there will be sparks of laughing with friends, holding loved ones, a white wall of scorching fire.

It's nothing compared to what he knows of the Wasteland though. To him, it's just always been there; a decaying land with bad news for the unprepared and worse news for the unlucky. A desert, a battleground, a no-man's land. It's all of these to him, and he loves it.

The part of his story he can remember best was his time with the Regulators, a righteous sort with a noble cause. Back then he believed in that kind of movement, that virtue and a just purpose were what you really needed in life. He tracked down targets and hunted down the evil, imagining himself a hero to the poor souls who tried to make a decent living in this damned wold. Somewhere between the skull-cracking and finger-nicking, though, that golden concept turned gray and dull. It was nice, to be sure, but in the end it wasn't where he belonged; the ashen hills that he watched every day somehow became grayer, the targets increasingly boring and pathetically easy to bring to justice. He just wanted to wander. And keep wandering. So wander he did, his Regulator duster left along with his sense of meaning on the parched ground of the Wasteland.

His adventures nowadays just consist of whatever he finds on and off the beaten path. He'll take odd jobs that ask for a hired gun with good eyes, and the thrill of combat gives him enough excitement to carry on. He's not sure what he's looking for at this point; purpose? Some group to belong to? More [censored] to shoot? He couldn't tell you. The Wasteland doesn't seem much like a place that can help you find a purpose.

And yet it's the land he wanders in. And he loves it.

Misc: The usual regenerative abilities that a ghoul possesses when near radiation. He's also got an affection for a certain song that plays on his radio at times.
