Firstly, I'm basing this in the XCOM universe. A rough timeline would be during the invasion, or the events of Enemy Unknown/Enemy Within. If you're unfamiliar with the game, here's the wiki. Just keep in mind this is primarily going to be the events of EU/EW, and not XCOM 2. (Although it could progress that far, theoretically.)
Secondly, I'm going to use a multiple dice system, instead of the standard D6. D100s, D20s, D10s, and possibly D6s will all be in play depending on the situation and the actions taken. While I'm not going to be listing out the basics of every possible roll, higher is always better. As well, I'd like to try a profession system, where your characters have/had a profession before SHTF, and said profession gives hidden bonuses or other effects. Unemployed is an option! (Just not a very good one)
Going from the profession system, sadly you, the players, will not be starting out as XCOM operatives. You're all just civilians that happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. In this case, a city currently being terrorized by the aliens. What city? I honestly don't know. Give me some ideas and I'll go from there.
Also since people seem to like giving appearances and the like, and it'll be an easy way to keep track of characters, here's a basic character sheet.
Code: Select all
Appearance: Picture or description, either works.
Name: Duh.
Stats: Stuff like height/weight, age, other important/not important features. Whatever.
Gender: Again, duh.
Profession: What did you do before Aliens showed up at your front door? Your profession indicates what you are good at, or at
least not completely terrible at. Actions relating to your profession, even remotely, may have bonuses applied. Keep that in mind.
Color Claim: Take your speech color before someone else does. Maybe a little quote from your character.
Rules! Or maybe guidelines I'm not really sure.
-General forum rules apply.
-General RP rules apply (Except those that don't but most of them do.)
-What I say goes, but feel free to question me or bring up any issues because I'd like this to be enjoyable for all.
-One character per person. Unless that character dies.
-Be smart. Or don't. It's more fun if you aren't but you'll die a lot faster.
-Please list out your actions at the bottom of your post, it makes it easier on me!
-On the same note as above, try not to perform too many actions in one post.
-Teamwork is probably useful for your continued survival. Probably.
I'm going to be limiting the player count to six, not including myself, for this one. It's a good number and shouldn't be too difficult to keep up on for writing out the results. I might end up looking for an assistant, and if I do I might also increase the max player or character count to go along with it.
