Indeed. I'd still love to know how an analog Variable Frequency Drive would actually work... Or an analog phase converter for that matter, but yeah.
Multi-phase induction motors are the type of thing that last almost forever. They have 1 moving part, and unless overly stressed, don't really have wear on the electrical parts at all. I'd love to see one with magnetic bearings... That would outlive my grandkids, even under constant use.

Re: Last Man Posting
Is that a new avatar, or am I just seeing it differently on PC?

Believe it or not I also have problems with images in the forum. My browser has issues trying to load and render images. In most comic page discussion thread the first post is always supposed to contain the comic page itself. Well for the last couple of months my browser only displays: "Image"
I never bothered mentioned since it is a very minor issue and my computer setup is rather exotic. But If i am not the only one .....

To be fair, I never noticed Technic's avatar was a cactus. Shows what you can see with a screen bigger than your palm, eh?

Re: Last Man Posting
Well i had always thought your avatar was Keith posing in front a purple knight rider. Then i saw the full drawing.
My avatar is a Opuntia ficus-indica latin aside it is known in Anglo-saxon countries as prickly pear and here south of the bravo as nopal.
Believe it or not I took the picture myself but lost the original file and had to salvage a copy from an old forum i used to frequent ages ago. I still hope to go back to the Nopal and take another picture. It was so pretty!

This avatar was my fursona, back years ago when KiaBugBoy was doing requests. It's now more of an OC, standing next to a '69 Dodge Charger Daytona with a custom paint job. I'm still quite happy with how well it turned out.

Meep meep!
If it moves but shouldn't: Duct tape. If it doesn't move but should: WD-40. With a hammer everything fits, and if it still doesn't fit: bigger hammer. If it can't be fixed with a hammer it's an electrical problem.
