I feel This is relevant here.
Gearhead mechanic in the digital era, who will probably grow up is in the process of growing up to be a very grumpy old man.

Pfffffffft
I mean, I guess it's not wrong. Not going back to Skype though.

Re: Last Man Posting
I've only ever used Skype and Zoom; Skype in college and Zoom when my father had a weekly meeting with some friends of his.
Personally, though? I prefer IRC. It's quick, simple, will run on freaking ANYTHING, and it's free for all tiers. Who cares if it's text-only?

I did not imagined Gen Bellhead as the webtoons kind of guy.
I am surprised Skype is still a thing. I figure Microsoft would prefer to push Teams. For work i use Zoom i really dislike teams, seems to only work whenever it wants.... and now we sound like middle aged men.
I would not try to make a work meeting on IRC or any chat based system voice makes things clearer, sometimes. or you can go all OG email threads. The original electronic communication.
Also just to be technical, IRC is indeed free to use, but hosting it may cost a couple of bucks.

I don't know if Skype is still a thing, I used it years ago.
And I suppose IRC might cost something, if you run your own server. But any major company would already have one, so I feel it's a moot point.

Re: Last Man Posting
Nowadays most cmopanies use slack for chat and I do not think I ever heard of a professional IRC server, for fun i tried to check the cheapest virtual server to run a IRC server, for friends mainly, and it would be around 3.5 USD a month the cheapest server around and 18 USD for something a bit more capable.
