Correct, I was talking about snow plowing.

Basically, cars can get stuck in snow very easily, and if they don't, what does get driven over turns into hard-packed ice.

And snow doesn't burst pipes. Coldness does. Water expands when it freezes inside pipes, that's why they burst. It's also why having your heat go out is such an issue, and why a lot of people leave faucets dripping 24/7 in the winter: Moving water doesn't freeze.

Plow is one of those words that have more than one meaning and are unusual enough so I pick the wrong one everytime.

Water is a curious case is one of the few, if not only, liquid than expands when frozen. Hence the bursting pipes. Here most houses do not even have central heating as it is rarely needed. Which makes the whole construction more simple but makes everyone scared of sub zero temperatures.

In my opinion, EVERY house should have central heating, if there is even a CHANCE for freezing temperatures. Burst pipes are horrible.

Also, after three hours of plowing snow in the middle of the night, the plow broke. Well, not broke, per se, but it lost all hydraulic pressure, so it's basically useless. First storm with that truck, too...

It's gonna be a fun winter. Where's my duct tape?

On the shelf, next to the WD40.
If it moves but shouldn't: Duct tape. If it doesn't move but should: WD-40. With a hammer everything fits, and if it still doesn't fit: bigger hammer. If it can't be fixed with a hammer it's an electrical problem.

I have yet to know a house with central heating. They are really not common around here. On the other hand I do know a house with burst pipes from freezing. Mine....

Also good to know I am not the only one who keeps a couple rolls of duct tape and wd-40 "just in case".
Wanted a compressor too but I do not have anywhere to put it

Get one of those pancake style ones. They're tiny.

"pancake heater" was something I did not expected to Google today.

I got confused and Thought you were speaking about heaters not compressors. But now I know there are tiny appliances to keep you pancakes warm over breakfast 🥞

Is that some weird joke my crappy internet won't let me understand?

Or is it simply failing to load?
