Re: Last Man Posting
Context. My mother nicknamed that jeep Piglet, after Winnie The Pooh, because of the color scheme it had at the time. And back in the day, before cables could stand up to the task, EVERYTHING was linkage driven. Then cables came into play for their flexibility. Now though, most are hydraulic, using brake fluid and a separate master and slave cylinder. Mine is half cable half linkage with a pivot bar in between, but the rod moves maybe 2 inches for the whole distance of clutch travel, and it's under tension, not compression, so it really does need that thickness.
But here's the kicker:
Broken Jeep clutch linkage? $2.13 and 5 minutes with a pair of pliers.
Driving to your local parts guy, who knows the part you need for your '68 hodge-podge, without calling first, and he has it on the shelf, in stock, and sells it to you for less than the gas it took to get there and back? Priceless.
Gods I love Crown Auto...

Re: Last Man Posting
Looking for piglet clutch on google give some interesting results....
Namely did you know there is a professional lol player nicknamed piglet?
Chatting with you here gives me the impression that there are still making parts for jeep models from the 60. Or that they may so many back in the day the market still has enough spares for decades.
Btw
this is what is broken?

Basically, yeah. Looks like the wrong one, but that's definitely it.
And yeah, some people are still making parts. There's actually quite a few of those jeeps left, and the parts are largely universal for many years.

I think I complained about an advisor's lack of ability to do his job... for 45 minutes straight... Including when I was alone...
They say that only crazy people talk to themselves. I respectfully disagree, they just need a vacation. It's when you start responding to yourself that you have issues. But if you ever start losing arguments against yourself, it might be time to think about... well, I'm not sure. Headphones, maybe? Then you can drown yourself out, so you don't have to listen to your arguments.

We agree...
If it moves but shouldn't: Duct tape. If it doesn't move but should: WD-40. With a hammer everything fits, and if it still doesn't fit: bigger hammer. If it can't be fixed with a hammer it's an electrical problem.

Brought the Jeep to work today, because nice weather. And Saturday. Brought it in an hour and a half before closing, so I could sleep under it.
Just woke up. We closed 10 minutes ago...
