Knowing this generation, phpbb will be like reading hieroglyphs. Nobody's gonna care, save for those who are looking for some specific thing.

And our "door" was literally a piece of plywood with hinges that we trimmed several times to make it fit right. Sad part is, that works better than most of our own doors, professionally installed. Had one break today, actually.

Well considering most of the thing that are popular with kids these days are video/image based: TakTok and Instagram. Or generally have a very scant amount of text: twitter. The walls of text that are pre 2010 bulletin board may be intimidating at best, insurmountable at worst.
Yet again I am not sure our children or grand-children will be able to see out early 2000s post anyways. Of my 5 favorite bulletin boards, not counting this one, that I used to frequent only one remains online, the others have long disappeared. Even this one may get discontinued in the future, not necessarily because the comic stops or something but if no one actually uses it then there is little sense in keeping it online.
That being said keeping this type of boards cost pennies these days so there is the possibility some people start some phpBB forums on a machine that also runs something important and forgets about it, preserving the site for decades to come.

Regarding the door I was trying to be a bit ironical. Can't remember why :?
In any case I agree doors are not that complicated yet it seems a lot of people get it wrong. I have yet to see a door that does not have some sort or quirk or defect. Moreover here we use mostly Steel doors instead of wooden ones. Lets just say issues with metallic doors are much more troublesome than wooden ones.

An American cowboy with a sombrero is...

Something I don't care about.
If it moves but shouldn't: Duct tape. If it doesn't move but should: WD-40. With a hammer everything fits, and if it still doesn't fit: bigger hammer. If it can't be fixed with a hammer it's an electrical problem.

Didn't he said "hello beastie" ?
Sorry, the reference, if any went way over my head :/

In other news in today episode of "Mexican stuff no one asked about"
If you are willing to consider American anyone from Alaska to Chile, then a cowboy with a sombrero might very well be a Charro

Got a point, there. I honestly hadn't seen that movie since... Well, I have a walking, talking relative who wasn't born yet.

In completely unrelated news, my duties as "Unofficial Shop Foreman" now include (but are not limited to): Electrical and mechanical automotive diagnosis (that's a given), pneumatic oil pump repair and rebuild, industrial air compressor maintenance, repair and diagnosis, "Tiny Hands" tasks, design and manufacturing, carpentry, machining, training of new people, Windows/network specialist, painter, gopher, floor cleaning machine technician, and occasionally litter picker-upper. And when I'm allowed to, shop DJ, and dispatcher of work.

Apparently when you do your job, they give you more to do. I just wanted to be the guy in the back that knows the random stuff that nobody else knows. Now I'm like 2 people away from being in charge of the whole shop. AND they won't give me a key...

I have only seen it in Spanish, not entirely sure how I catched that...

Anyhow that is not uncommon in the workplace. If you are the reliable, smart and hardworking guy they usually reward you. Not with promotions or even a raise but with more, generally uncompensated, work.
Happens everywhere from nursing to software. It is the sad reality of today's and also yesterda's workplace.
Then there are also these guys who know exactly how much work they need to do in order not to get fired yet nobody is gonna asked them to do more.

Also what even is a "tiny hands" task?

Precisely, Kellard. I have small hands that can reach small places. So people call me for that.

They say the simplest explanation is usually the best..

In my defense I thought the most direct interpretation was too literal. I assumed that unless in extreme cases, you are either a kid or a giant, hand size difference is not gonna be as large as to actually matter. Case and point my female coworker has significantly smaller hands than mine, yet neither of use can reach behind the coffee machine at work.

Sometimes is hard to figure out what is idiomatic and what is not. Yeah blame it on that

Sometimes your hands have to fit the smaller holes.

You know, feeling around.
If it moves but shouldn't: Duct tape. If it doesn't move but should: WD-40. With a hammer everything fits, and if it still doesn't fit: bigger hammer. If it can't be fixed with a hammer it's an electrical problem.

I can also contort my arms pretty well, so reaching in confined cramped spaces with tools is pretty easy for me.

"I need your tiny handed assistance" is a common phrase for a few people.

I think the phrase stuck me as particularly weird, despite making inherent sense, because i had never heard it before.

Still if you ask me that sound more like: "I cannot fit my hands in there, I could get a pair of pliers and get this done... Nah lets bring Mr Bell he can do it for me"

However At the end of the day i do not have small hands. maybe that is why i find the concept so puzzling.
