It is cool to see what guns you have, but in my humble opinion, no one ever looks good showing off guns unless they are in uniform. No offence to you or anything, but that is just my two cents. (I would like to get a better look at your Tokarev though...)avengedplatypus wrote:

I don't feel like putting my uniform on right now, because its the weekend and I'm off duty.
Also, please dont treat people in uniform as above civilians. We really arent and the double standards really make me uncomfortable sometimes.

(I've had a couple beers, so if I come across overly strong forgive me) But you are above Civilians. I don't even know what you are a part of, but you have undoubtedly gone through some kind of training/school which is more than I can say for myself posing with a firearm. I can respect not wanting to get into your uniform though; even getting into my Boy Scout unifprm was a chore towards the end with all the medals I had and all the sashes and what-not.avengedplatypus wrote:I don't feel like putting my uniform on right now, because its the weekend and I'm off duty.

I'm in the Army and I mostly dont want to get in uniform because i'm at home and my uniform isn't here right now. I dont feel like i'm above civilians....
EDIT:
The tokarev knockoff was the best 200 dollars I ever spent. I shot it today and it functioned flawlessly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a defensive handgun.

That's good to hear, I was thinking about making it my carry weapon when I get my CPL. Yeah, it has a small magazine, but if you need more than 8 shots to defend yourself, then something is very wrong. Is it still in 7.62x25 though? I have no idea what to expect when it comes to kickback.avengedplatypus wrote:The tokarev knockoff was the best 200 dollars I ever spent. I shot it today and it functioned flawlessly. The one I got is 9mm. It's very easy to shoot.

A TT33 is a little big for a carry weapon unless you're going to open carry, would be difficult to conceal properly outside of winter clothing.
If you need more than 8 shots to defend yourself, it just means you're being attacked by multiple assailants or you're being shot at, (active shooter type situation) you will more than likely miss when shooting back in a situation like that... a lot.
Good thing about carrying a Tok though, if you get one in 7.62x25, surplus ammo for training is cheap as hell... and I honestly would love for someone to make a modern double stack pistol in 7.62x25, because it's a great round.

It wouldn't be that hard. My dad caries a Sig 229, and that thing is pretty dang big. My cousin carries a single stack 1911 just fine as well.Divenity wrote:A TT33 is a little big for a carry weapon unless you're going to open carry, would be difficult to conceal properly outside of winter clothing.

And that is basically what I meant by "very wrong." In a situation like that, no concealed pistol is going to be perfect. So I just meant that I don't think I personally will ever have need of more than 8 rounds.
Yeah, I hear you can get a lot of surplus ammo for really cheap. That is what I shoot in my 308. I know it is corrosive, but it isn't a high end rifle, so I don't want to pay for high end ammo.

Well, corrosive is only a problem if you don't clean your rifle when you get home, it takes a while of sitting for it to actually do any harm.nsamok6620 wrote:It wouldn't be that hard. I'm with you man I don't like getting in uniform when I'm not on duty. I also agree, I don't feel any more special than civilians. AIM surplus (Aimsurplus.com) usually has Zastava M57s (new Yugoslavian TT33, in 7.62x25), Cugir TT33s (50's era TT33 from Romania) and Zastava M70As (new Yugoslavian 9mm TT33) up for sale, they sell out very quickly but get shipments often, your local FFL can order one for you.johny wrote:I'm with you man I don't like getting in uniform when I'm not on duty. All of them are around $220-$240, or you can head over to Gunbroker.com and look there, but the prices tend to be a bit higher.
Alternatively, you would need to scour your local gun shows and shops trying to find one.
