In the beginning, today was supposed to be another neutral day. I had just read about bellhead's situation and scrolled up to see this
Insomniac wrote: Sat Feb 01, 2020 10:20 pm Today is the fifth anniversary of RWBY creator Monty Oum's death.
To have this be one of the things that kickstart your day, I wanted to be mad. But for that exact reason, I couldn't. I just stared and thought. Is this the first time I've thought about Oum's death? of course not, but every time I think about it, I'm stuck in this dazed and stunned state of mind and think what I usually think. "What could've been had he lived" and "The consequences of his death". I won't go over the first one because it could be literally anything. I will go over the second one, however.

The state of RWBY and RedvsBlue following the events of the death of Monty Oum. Featuring, my opinions

RedvsBlue: Monty was a co-writer and animation director for Red vs. Blue and died towards the of season 12. following his death, however, the story and animation weren't quite the same but they were still ok. Then came the end of Season 13, Most fans (myself included) think it should've ended there. Then came along season 15 (we don't talk about season 14) and along with it. The Shisno Paradox Arc. Beginning with that the story and fight choreography went to S*:t.

RWBY: Monty Oum created RWBY, and pretty much maintained the same roles as RvB but gained a few more. RWBY shares a similar story as RvB except less extreme. but where it lacks extremity, it certainly makes up for with fan-pandering. Every time I think about it, the more I feel bad for the writers right now. Blake and Yang (two of the main characters) when Monty was still alive, as a viewer you could see that those two characters' relationship was probably going somewhere but after he died, fans pandering became a bit more extreme on lots of the ships and that ship was so extremely backed by fans that the writers just effing gave up.

Should You Watch Any Of These???
I know I just S*:t-talked them a lot but at a point in their lives both of the aforementioned series were extremely good however be warned if you watch RedvsBlue either stop watching at season 13 finale or season 10 finale. I actually had the ending for season 13 spoiled for me and I still almost cried. season 6 is where the plot picks up but there are important things in seasons 1-5 that if you miss, you'll be confused for a while.
Now for RWBY. If you watch, you'll probably either really like it or not be interested at all, if you do like it watch up to season 3 at least but you'll be disappointed and will watch season 4, 5, 6, 7, and be even more disappointed. despite being so disappointed you'll keep watching, and watching just hoping that the hardcore shippers/stans will stop and the story can be normal once more. but it's a stupid dream nothing but that. a naive stupid dream. FOR AS LONG AS MORE THAN 1 FICTIONAL CHARACTER EXISTS THERE WILL ALWAYS BE SHIPPERS.

Side Note. if you really want something in a story, don't harass the author. harassing him just takes gives him a bad impression of his fanbase and takes away his passion for the thing he's working on. We all have our own ships, but you don't have to have canonical justification. if the story takes a different turn just deal with it or stop reading/watching.

[Edit] Who wrote this? oh.

I personally have always loved RWBY and always will...Volume 4 was a minor dip in quality to me, and honestly the best part of volume 5 was Blake's story, but 6 and 7 were both amazing to me. I'm not a crazed shipper, but I've seen the Bumblebee ship since volume 2. And even if something SOMEHOW makes me stop liking the series, I'll forever love the music. Casey had more musical talent at 14 than I've ever dreamed of having, and listening to her grow as an artist has been a privilege. As for Red vs Blue, loved it, still love it, looking forward to more. Even the latest seasons. CAROLINA of all characters on the verge of tears this past season? Oh you bet your RECTUS that had me crying...

I actually enjoyed season 7 a lot more than I initially thought I would've, 4 was really "wonky" 5 and 6, I watched them, didn't think much of them. At the time I was more sick of looking at RWBY stans on twitter and comments on RT's twitter that It didn't feel normal when I watched it. I tried watching S15 of RvB and it was fine but I just couldn't transition out of the Chorus Arc and was too sad to want to watch anymore.

Now for Our regularly Scheduled Program

After thinking about Oum's death for a while I decided to watch youtube ( specifically markiplier playing horror games) and that's when I came across his playthroughs on Exoptable Money and Presentable Liberty. I had watched both of these videos before but didn't remember all the lore so I watched them again. These games are really famous especially because lots of famous YouTubers played these two games and you, yourself have probably seen a playthrough or two of these games. These games delivered two very powerful messages about corruption by wealth, loneliness, and human nature(to some extent). But then I read the top comment on Mark's video on Exoptable Money. That comment was about the creator's story. The Story of Robert Brock. Robert saw that the videos on his games were gaining huge popularity and people asked him to make another game, he wanted to make another but felt the quality of the previous two games were lackluster. he was going to remake the games with an actual team, but doing that required money. He made a Kickstarter page for 20,000 euros but even though his games were famous, he wasn't. It was hard for him to advertise his page as he was only known from big YouTubers. he later made the sequel hoping that it would garner the attention of the YouTubers once more so he could get the money he needed to make his fans happy and even lowered the goal to 12,000 euros. None of them played it, Over-shadowed by his accomplishments he began to think that no-one truly liked his games, as the game's popularity died down, so did his passion. Sometime in June of 2018, Robert Brock committed suicide. Coming to the conclusion that no body liked his games, he lost his will to live. Even though I only knew this man's story for a few seconds I felt really sad because it was obvious that people really did like his games but just didn't follow the man personally and that he just didn't think about why? he only thought about what. maybe if mark or jack had said "this game was made by a guy named Robert Brock" or did more than just put a link in the desc. but they wouldn't have known, nor thought it would've come to this, nobody thought it would.

So there was a blizzard here in New England yesterday, which is already distressing seeing as it's the middle of April, but this morning, my dad woke me up extra early to let me know something important!

I, in my infinite genius, had forgotten to close the sunroof of my car.

I don't even know when I opened it cuz I haven't been driving that car lately, but in any case, guess who just had to spend 35 minutes scooping snow out of their car!!!

Not to sound mean, but as a New Englander who's had that happen on a tight schedule, HAHA! *ahem*

Yeah. That was weird. Most of it's gone now, but I'm worried what a cold shot like this will do to the trees around here. Wildlife too..

Same here. It being 60 and sunny today is good, but the amount of snow on the ground means everything's drowning…you'd think it had rained to look at the edge of my roof.

Bellhead wrote: Thu Apr 16, 2020 1:34 am As a mechanic -sorry, technician- I always dreaded this day. Hoped it would never come, but it happened.

Customer states:
"My heat stopped working."

Technician states:
"Well, we could put a new engine in it."

True story, and yes, that was an actual fix for it. They blew a head gasket, leaked coolant down the back of the block, and lost heat. We'll be replacing the head gasket. Sad part is, it's covered under warranty, so I'll spend probably 15 hours on it and get paid about 6. Gotta love flat-rate.
Update. Head's warped, deck's warped and stripped. No heat? Yeah, you need a new engine. And my day was going so well...

Maybe the customer named their car "Heat"?

I often get perturbed by the notion of dichotomy. As in if one thing is one way it cannot be another. Only within form and shape can the diametrically opposed truly exist. Only within states of being, facts of existence, and any other attributes of real objects can there truly be opposition. We'll simplify this to form. For the purpose of this rant "form" refers exclusively to a state of existence or tangibility. Not in opposition to but rather an extension or the inevible result of which is the realm of metaphor, imagination, and the intangible where everything exists on a spectrum and where there are various degrees of everything and nothing. This is simplified to function. This is where we find morality, ethics, and uses. Function is how we use forms and is an inherent extension of function.

How can morality, a function, be an extension of form? Thoughts are a form, no one can deny their existence, and are a rare example of a tangible intangible. In such a way many minds may cry paradox but paradox is simply a glitch in the definitional semantics of language. I have not defined tangible or intangible and use these words freely.

I digress, while a door cannot be a window as well by the strictest definition it can serve many of the same functions, such as letting air in. Likewise a window can serve as a point of passage much like a door. Deciding whether or not to take the window instead of the door is wholly a matter of personal preference and is, in the most literal sense, impossible to be impossible because it is possible.

However, there are opposing intangibles that cannot be reconciled. However, these oppositions often speak to core state of being of those ideas. An example could be the idea of the morality of acts. Something by definition cannot be both good and evil at the same time. However, even something like murder can have shades of good and evil.

Does that make any sense to you?

If it does not I am not wrong. Waxing philosophy is not a state of being. In fact even some facts are not facts at all but presuppositions presuming ones own suppositions are utterly correct in contrast with competing viewpoints. Those competing viewpoints are not actually competing but being forced into a false dichotomy. The use of such falsehoods can be compared to the striking of two hammers together and asserting such impacts are in the very nature of the hammers to occur. This is a silly notion and impacts of the hammers, much like the opposition of compatible ideas is forced upon them by people attempting to force an opposition as opposed to organically understanding and attempting to rationalize the complex mindfield of maltifacetism.

In short...

Knowledge is power.
Ignorance is ruin.

Haven't changed my signature since 2015, and probably never will. Haven't followed the comic for probably that long, either. Kinda been in a nostalgic mood for 2014/2015 recently, so may just reread the comic. The art's been good recently, but I've heard the story's been rather lackluster/all over the place, so I'm not expecting too too much in that regard.

Props to our service advisors, for their absolutely BRILLIANT sense of time and workload. We're open 8 to 5. Customer comes in, 4:00, AC diagnosis. Diag done around 4:20, needs a new line. Parts priced out by 4:40.

Approved: 4:55. We close at 5. Advisor informs customer, "Sure you can wait here, it'll be done soon".

AC machine is in use, with ANOTHER waiter before mine, and we're out of refrigerant, so a half hour after we close, somebody has to break into the Parts department to get more, so the people who are STILL WAITING can go home.

I know they have a tough job, but there are times when you should just say, "come back later".
