How much was svchost using? When Windows is installing updates, a svchost process will be holding all the data.
Corrupted updates might be causing the blue screen.

Hovers in between 142,372 K and 142,376 K with only Skype and one Chrome window open. Goes up slightly as I try to open another window.

That's quite a bit. You can right click and select Go to Services, which will highlight all the services that process is hosting. If Windows Update is one of them, the memory usage should decrease once updates are complete. Unless they're corrupted or something...

As it stands as I write this: One Chrome incognito window open on the TK forums, one regular Chrome window open on Twitter, Skype running, resource monitor open, task manager open. svchost.exe at 181,960 K, gradually rising and falling. Windows update is a running service, but it is being run by a svchost.exe currently at 35,068 K.

In entirely unrelated business, school started today, and I still have summer homework to finish, all due Friday. A metric [censored]-ton of it, both for English and AcDec. And I lack any motivation to do any of it. It seems like as soon as I get geared up to get it done, all motivation goes right out the window. Thing is, the AcDec stuff will be a factor in whether or not I'll be on the team come January, and there's a test over the English stuff the day it's due, so I'm not sure which has the most importance. Getting the year started off right by turning in some very important assignments late. Just like always.

My thoughts go out to those suffering from the recent explosions at the Chinese Chemical Plant. The news is still breaking, but what I saw was terrifying.

So, the topic of my depression came up with my mother, and she yelled at me for not maintaining my personal hygiene as well as I used to. Kinda hard to give a [censored] about anything, honestly, and hygiene is on the bottom of the list alongside getting out of bed in the morning.

And now I just feel lots of anger. I'm considering getting the axe out of the shed and hacking up their bed, then telling them that I did it while imagining that my mother was there. To hell with the consequences, I just want them to give a damn about me instead of always complaining.

I have the worst luck with getting cards in the Pokemon TCGO. I got a Mega Rayquaza EX and the Rayquaza Spirit link, but no Rayquaza EX, which is required to use both. And now with the new expansion, The exact same thing happened with Sceptile, got the Mega and the spirit link; but it's worse because my main deck is grass type.

My father has been having a rough time of it that past six weeks, severe abdominal pains when he eats or drinks and it's interrupting his sleep. My brother and I take him to the hospital for testing Saturday morning and I don't hear back until late that night, the news is not good, results are indicating he has liver and pancreatic cancer. Not all that surprising for me since he's had a history of cancer previously (melanoma that cost him a significant portion of his right arm) but it hit my brother especially hard and we don't have confirmation on the condition and have to speak to a specialist. Did some research myself and survival rates are promising with surgery but I may be losing my father sometime in the next five years. It just hit me.

I suppose what I want to say is make the most of your time. I lost someone very close to me due to cancer a couple days ago.

Hey guys, remember that guy from Maryland who dressed up as Batman, drove around in a black Lamborghini 'Batmobile', and went to area children's hospitals for visits? Well, it seems he was killed in a car crash.

Ran over a screw on my way to work this morning. Despite my ignorance I was able to swap out for my spare and get to a shop after work. Patched it up and it didn't cost me anything, so that's always good I suppose.

But, ugh. One bad thing yesterday (got pulled over for being an idiot), two bad things today (tire, and a friend of a friend is really sick). And I guess my down swings will be alternating weeks. >.>

My cycle is having fuel problems. I think it's a vaccuum leak, but that's four very expensive discontinued parts.

When I'm stopped, such as at a light, the engine will idle perfectly at about 1200 rpm for about 30 seconds. Sometimes more, sometimes less, then it will die out, one cylinder at a time. It's worth mentioning that this bike uses a vaccuum fuel shutoff, so fuel does not flow unless the engine is running. What I think, as of now, is that the cracked rubber intake tubes between the carbs and the block are leaking. Or, rather, that the one the shutoff is hooked to does not have the needed vaccuum. Unfortunately, the other 3 appear just as bad, and I don't have the cash to replace them. Sad day indeed, but at least it still runs and rides like new.

Oh, and I realized this the other day:
My mother's father died when she was in her teens,
her mother died when my sister was in her teens,
and she died while I was in my teens.
Not a very good trend. Really makes me not want to start a familly if I ever have the opportunity. "Have a kid and see death 15 years later" is not something I want to happen. Not again.

Well, I got my computer back from being wiped. After updating itself for over 15 hours (7:00am to half past midnight), it finally let me log in. And it wouldn't recognize any USB I plugged in, including the one with all my backups on it. This was yesterday. I brought in back in again this morning, and they said some board in there was hosed, ordered a new one for me, and then restarted it. It took 3 hours to restart. I get home with it and figure out it recognized USBs again. So I started to get all my info back on it. Few minutes into it, blue screen. Turning it back on, it's installing some updates. I get back to where I was, and continued with no apparent problems. Soon, I get another blue screen. The first one was an "error k-something-something-something" blue screen, this one was "a process or thread crucial to the system has been unexpectedly exited or terminated." Repeat first process. Continuing with no problems, another blue screen, same as the last one, at which point I'm writing this. It's installing updates again. All I wanted to do was install iTunes (;_;)

tl;dr: Three blue screens in less than 5 hours.
