Wasn't in the military, but I grew up in a military family (Marines) only reason I didn't join is because of my genetic clotting disorder. But it nice to know I'm not the only "old" person on here!

So now that I have internet I might as well chime in.
Born and Raised a military Brat (Army) and just now at the ripe old age of 25, I have joined the worlds greatest Air Force.
Currently at tech school at [REDACTED] as [REDACTED].
I'm gonna be here for a while before I get my first duty station. So far I like it here. My commander (Brigadier General) gave us a bag of candy after our Briefing today....What have i gotten myself into!?

I went to tech school at sheppard and was weapons. Not a big deal to post your tech school. just dont post anything that requires a clearance or violates opsec. So glad Im out. XD
Just listen to your MTL and go to class. tech school is easy as hell. Your first duty station will be even easier.
DONT DO DRIGS, DONT DRINK AND DRIVE, AND FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY HAVE CONSENT BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING WITH ANYONE!!!!
^ these three things will save your career.
Oh and PT. never stop doing PT. they are ousting people for slightly failing the test now.

I'm AGE so I'm going to be here for a while. As for the PT thing, if you scored an 80% or above then you no longer have to do PT in this squadron except for the mock PT tests. I got Thunderbolt during BMT so I''m off the hook and I can get some extra sleep/time to myself if I want. However, it'll just be spent at the gym anyway but it beats PT anyday.
Re: wheres my dysfunctional veterans and military service members at?
good on ya man. dont ever quit doing gym/pt.
so wait how long is the school for age?

My family has always been heavily involved in the service branches, as my father was in the Army for 34 years, and my grandfathers, although I never got to meet them, were involved in the Air Force too. As for me, I found more interest in the Healthcare/STEM field than in the military, but I'll carry on their sense of duty fondly in my career pathway as soon as I finally get there, lol. I hope the Air Force is treating you well, mate!
