Re: Comic book movies do well, but comic books don't. Why?

#1 Post by Winter-huntsman »

Well most of these comics were pretty famous and read a lot before they became movies. The movies are so well known today, and because of technogy people prefer to watch something then read it. This has only happened recently as old comic characters get introduced into the movies.

Also, investing in comic books is not a cheap hobby. With a movie, you get a single arc stuffed into one hundred minutes of good stuff with all the character building and backstory. With comic books, it can take years to even understand one villain's motives, and that comes at a much higher price.
